@ForsythiaInBloom

I heard something on the radio phone in the other day that made me think “WHAT TAF? I’m sooo old!” Shock

They wanted Beyoncé’s “Crazy Right Now” played for their daughter going away to Uni….because it was No1 when she was born.

No, no, no!! It’s only been a couple of years since that was in the charts!!!

I just googled that in disbelief.... Crazy in Love was released in 2003! 😭 Noooooo......

When your kids teachers are younger than you

user6367377 · 09/11/2021 17:38

My hair and being called granny!

SammyScrounge · 09/11/2021 17:39

The first time I saw £sd explained in a book l was reading.

BettyfromBristol · 09/11/2021 17:39

My friend's son giving me a lift in his car the other day. How could that be possible? It was surely only a couple of years ago that I used to look after him one morning a week, and change his nappy while he was here.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 09/11/2021 17:41

When I realised that V.E. Day was closer to my year of birth than my year of birth is to now ... by nearly 20 years!

Waaaah!

TipseyTorvey · 09/11/2021 17:44

@BusySittingDown

Oh yes, seeing someone from school that I haven't seen since school and thinking "ooh no, it can't possibly be them as they look almost middle aged...oh!"
This made me cackle out loud 🤣🤣🤣.
CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/11/2021 17:44

Finding out a boy who was in the year below dd1 at school is now a police officer.

When filling out the car insurance details for how long I've had a full licence & ticking the box that just says 20+ years.

x2boys · 09/11/2021 17:53

@Freshprincess

you need to add year of birth on an online form and the damn counter is just spinning and spinning I had to access an online thing for work and the date stopped and 1980. They had to add me manually. I’m 50!

I was chatting to a twenty something colleague who was talking about being allowed to use WiFi when he was I’m in sixth form! We only had 6 Computers in the whole college and you only had one lesson per term on them.

Same ,I'm 48 next week ,when I was doing my diploma ,nurse training in the 90,s there was a computer room at college but it was always booked out ,we were allowed to hand write essays and assignments 🤣

Remembering how I used to sleep in a bed with blankets and an eiderdown. And then these being replaced with one of those fancy continental quilts. I still call a duvet a continental quilt.

labazslovesliving · 09/11/2021 18:26

my firstborn grandchild is now 18!
lots of my fave pop stars are now sadly passing away or retiring
using my laptop by touch typing which I learnt on a good old typewriter whereas many people never were taught to type so just either type one finger or by looking at the keys

Pineapplefish · 09/11/2021 18:33

The lyrics to Katie Melua's "The Closest Thing to Crazy" make me feel old. I hear the line "Feeling 22, acting 17" and think "those are more or less the same age, no?"

Lucinda7 · 09/11/2021 19:03

I like Heat magazine but have stopped buying it as I don't know who most of the celebrities are. My Dad's car when I was a child had a starting handle and a choke.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/11/2021 19:05

A patient I've known since she was two weeks old is now transferring to adult services.

Jellykat · 09/11/2021 19:10

Watching the latest Tears for Fears' video on You tube, theyre the same age as me, but look ancient Sad fab song though!

IhateBoswell · 09/11/2021 19:15

My 17 year old daughter. She makes me feel out of touch and ancient.

Rubyupbeat · 09/11/2021 19:23

When I had an internal scan by a Dr. that was younger than my sons, it didn't feel right!

frankienotbenny · 09/11/2021 19:25

Recently saw one of those "Facts you didn't know about..." articles about Sophie Ellis Bextor. The fact we "didn't" know was that her Mum was a Blue Peter presenter. Sophie will always be Janet Ellis' little girl to me.

A student handed in an essay with the phrase "In the late 1900s"

Another one told me about this new band he was listening to, asked if I had heard of them. It was Radiohead.

LoveFall · 09/11/2021 20:27

DGS starting university and meeting his new (and first) steady girlfriend.

I am happy but sad at the same time.

Hillsareyourfriends · 09/11/2021 20:30

My daughter turning 21 tomorrow. I can't remember what I did this time last week but I can remember so clearly what I was doing this time 21 years ago.

Twilight7777 · 09/11/2021 20:35

I’m late 30s and I’ve been feeling my age a lot more recently, for me it tends to be hospital appointments with a dr or nurse in their 20s that makes me feel really old! I’ve had a spine condition for a couple of years so the back thing, of oh god my back is pretty much my life lol. Music makes me feel old, the music now is so sexualised it’s untrue I’m sure it was a little bit when I was a teenager but now it seems to be shoved in front of your face.

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/11/2021 20:35

Seeing things from my youth in museums 🤣
