So when does everyone put their Xmas decs up?

Last day of term/ weekend before Christmas.

Up 17th Dec down 30th Dec

When I was small my folks used to put the decs up no earlier than about a week before. Seems a lot of faff for such a short time!

I've never put them up as early as December 1st though. We always get a real tree and surely that would look a bit crispy come the 25th?

Might do the lights/outsidey bits on the 1st and get the tree a couple of weeks before..

Christmas Eve if I can get away with it. Down on either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.

I’m not in the UK for the first time this year and though I’ve been getting UK Christmas spam for weeks now, there is no sniff of any of it here. Majority Christian country, in Europe, so they definitely do Xmas, but evidently not just yet.

Which is actually lovely. It makes it all more special to wait till December.

The closest Sunday to the 1st December, so 28th November this year. We have a puppy though so we’ll see if they stay up or not 😂.

No choice as husband then away to work till end of January and no way I'm climbing up house putting lights up etc

Up about 12 December, and I absolutely have to de-Xmas the whole house two days before NY eve so I can do big pre-NY clean. To be honest I’m itching to get them down after Boxing Day.

27th of December here, even have it written in my diary We make an evening out of it, crack open a bottle of champagne, have some M&S nibbles and play Christmas music.

First weekend in December. Used to do it later but the amount of hassle and time it takes I figured I'd do it earlier. That's with a non drop real tree too and they always look as good when we Chuck them as when we put it up.

5th December. It's a little early but not stupidly so

A couple of people on my Facebook account have trees up already.

They should be taken outside and shot at dawn.

Ideally first week December but have painter coming to paint the house from 4th. I suspect it'll take me till nearly 24th to get back to normality and tree up this year.

The first weekend in December! It’s always a big deal, we put Christmas music on and all do it together, then have a Christmas film and hot chocolate. I love it. Last year I read a tip on here from someone suggesting that when you put your decs away after Christmas, to put in with them a bottle of wine with an elastic band round it with a £20 note so you can have a takeaway that night too. I thought that was inspired so we are doing that this year as well.

Probably about a week before Christmas, and then they come down after Jan 8th.

Not before 14th December ! Sorry I don't understand why people put theirs up in October/November !

The weekend nearest to the 12th night, so this year it'll likely be the 11th of Dec. And down about the 3rd or 4th of Jan.

Might be different this year as I'm due our 2nd child on the 1st of Jan!!

Obviously nothing wrong with putting up decs on the 11th but the '12th night' is on 5th Jan as that's the 12th day of Christmas
