As a child it was the cybermen, I think because they looked sort of human, as an adult it's those bloody weeping angels, looks like they are making a reappearance in this series

OP posts:

The vashtanarada. "There was a reason you were scared of the dark"

amazeandastonish · 31/10/2021 19:09

The weeping angels definitely

The gas mask kids I found more sad than scary for some reason

AnotherMansCause · 31/10/2021 19:17

3 - The Satan Pit
2 - The Weeping Angels
1- Rasmussen / The Sandman... who the doctor apparently didn't manage to defeat.

Oh weeping angels surely!

I’m reminded of when I nannied for a family with a (then) 12yo and a 10yo who watched Dr Who and a 3yo who probably shouldn’t have and the 3yo developed an absolute love of weeping angels and we used to have to play “don’t blink” where she was a weeping angels and I normally ended with her hands around my neck. Good times 😂

RunningFromInsanity · 31/10/2021 19:32

Weeping angels
Are you my mummy
This guy

Mochudubh · 31/10/2021 19:32

@PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle

Jon Pertwee and the giant maggots! I was about 8 years old and they were the stuff of nightmares. Still watched it though! Loved Jon Pertwee and saw him live at Wimbledon Theatre many years ago.
Was that The Ark in Space? I had nightmares about that for weeks.
BathshebaKnickerStickers · 31/10/2021 19:35

This guy terrified me for decades….

And the angels

Most terrifying Dr Who monster?
Mochudubh · 31/10/2021 19:36

I thought the skull man thing (missed if it had a name) in tonight's episode was pretty scary. I think it would have freaked me out if I was a child.

SoupDragon · 31/10/2021 19:37

The Weeping Angels were inspired because there are statues everywhere.

Then there was the monster who you forgot you'd seen... I can't remember who they were (oddly enough! 😂)

StrongArm · 31/10/2021 19:39

Weeping angels made me jump! (Though it was the non doctor who day of the triffids that terrified me as a child - I'm sure I was too young to watch it!!)

Mrsjayy · 31/10/2021 19:41

As a child Davros he terrified me ! The weeping angels are creepy feckers one was hiding round a corner at the Doctor Who exhibit I eeked Blush

Mossstitch · 31/10/2021 19:41

I agree with you op, cybermen............. Shudder🤖🙈 I never really watched but in those days it was one TV in the living room and my dad was obsessed with all things Sci fi, I remember hiding behind the sofa in the 60s when they came on👀😱

tickledtiger · 31/10/2021 19:43

They were "the silence " I remembered Grin

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 31/10/2021 19:46

@RampantIvy

Weeping Angels Silence Are you my Mummy

and from much longer ago the yetis

The problem with the daleks and the cybermen is that they have lost their novelty value and are no longer frightening. I would say that about the weeping angels as well because once you have seen the first episode with them you know what is going to happen. The first episode with them really made me jump though

And then they made the darleks colourful!

Did find the dolls from the episode with the dolls house creepy also. Especially with the tick tick song singing in the background.

Norugratsatall · 31/10/2021 20:07

Yep defo the weeping angels although those slug like things with the green slime in The Ark in Space terrified me as a child.

CiaoForDiNiaoSaur · 31/10/2021 20:12

For me it's Weeping Angels and the Scarecrows from the episode The Family of Blood (I think that's what it was called)

DC say the peg dolls and the Autons.

Mrsjayy · 31/10/2021 20:17

Ooo yes the scarecrows !

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2021 20:19

Weeping angels X 1 million!!

Yes!

Pure genius - a monster you can't remember.

SoupDragon · 31/10/2021 20:23

I may have hidden some doll house people in DS2s room after that particular episode... 😂

Mrsjayy · 31/10/2021 20:23

I wasn't mad keen on the Agatha Christie wasp the buzzing have you all seen tonight's? I've not but I'm imaging all the monsters at once !

Athrawes · 31/10/2021 20:23

It was so creepy 😳

canihaveacoffeeplease · 31/10/2021 20:29

Weeping angels without a doubt! There's one on this walk we do, off to the side kind of hidden by trees, me and DH always have to check it's still there and whisper 'don't blink' to each other. DC always ask what we're on about and we have to pretend we just love the lovely stone angel so point it out to each other Grin
