What are you having for Dinner tonight?

I have just got back from my second to last radiotherapy and ready to drop! Think I am just going to make pasta and sauce tonight.

Best of luck with your last treatment.

Also Patsa and sauce here. I'm an ex chef, but have had to start making short cuts due to health problems. So it's a jar of Loyd grossman sauce, diced chicken, cubed aubergine and handful of olives.

@NalPolishRemover

Best of luck with your treatment! We have either: Griddled fillet steak Griddled veg - asparagus, courgette, peppers Steamed broccoli Skin on oven chips &/or steamed potatoes with butter Peppercorn sauce

Or

High tea
Grilled butchers sausages, bacon, black & white pudding, grilled herbed tomatoes,
Eggs fried in butter
Baked beans
Hash browns/ oven chips
Hot buttered white toast

Whichever we don't have tonight will be tomorrow's dinner

OMG, I want your high tea. I can barely find white pudding here anymore (I'm in central Scotland) I'll need to go to the butchers and find some to have a cooked brunch at the weekend.

Normally when these threads come up I'm eating takeaway but tonight I'm having a home made vegetable pasta, the sauce is made with courgettes, mushrooms, onions, peppers and tomatoes.

Cheesy broccoli pasta bake.
I really must make a start.

winterisaroundthecorner · 25/10/2021 17:45

Coconut chicken curry.

Numbersarefun · 25/10/2021 17:48

Stuffed peppers here!

TheVolturi · 25/10/2021 17:48

Pasta with a tomato sauce mixed in and salad cream squirted on top! Quick no faff dinner for me today because I've been busy the last few days decorating and scrubbing the decking today!

TheBestSpoon · 25/10/2021 17:49

DH is making his speciality chicken fried in butter, with oven chips, broccoli, peas and sweetcorn. Not the healthiest, but tasty!

NalPolishRemover · 25/10/2021 17:49

@Gingerkittykat I'm in Ireland, no shortage of pudding of the black or white variety here!
We don't have this for dinner v often but every once in a while it really hits the spot

I hope you find some white pudding this week

Toad in the hole with green beans, cabbage and gravy.

Have prepped the salmon fish cakes for tomorrow to go with mangetout & parsley sauce

lemonyfox · 25/10/2021 17:51

Chicken on the bbq (why not 😂) with asparagus and hasselback potatoes.

EileenGC · 25/10/2021 17:54

Going with some friends to a pizza place with an amazing wood-fire oven, so I’m guessing pizza and a huge portion of tiramisu for dessert Was going to be Vietnamese so I had pasta for lunch, but two carby Italian meals in one day won’t kill me, right?

NalPolishRemover · 25/10/2021 17:55

@lemonyfox we had that last night- flattened chicken breasts marinaded in Lemon zest & juice, garlic, rosemary, olive oil, salt & black pepper cooked on the bbq
Served with bbq'ed asparagus, red pepper & courgette and roasted garlic & rosemary potato wedges. Simple but so very delicious

AtleastitsnotMonday · 25/10/2021 18:06

We are having a root veg bake with a gnocchi crust. (If I get off my bum to put in the oven!)

Hayup · 25/10/2021 18:07

Homemade Macaroni Cheese.

It was lovely, and there's enough for tomorrow too.

Sounds divine!

sofakingcool · 25/10/2021 18:21

We're having a takeaway- DS2 has tested positive for Covid and is feeling sorry for himself so this is a treat for him. He's feeling absolutely fine, but gutted that he's isolating over half term

Xiaoxiong · 25/10/2021 18:23

Tonight - chicken broth with leeks, dill and carrots, frozen garlic baguette on the side

Yesterday - roast chicken with sweet potato & onion, savoy cabbage with bacon & thyme - the remains of this turned into tonight's chicken soup

Day before - broccoli ripassati pasta, where you boil the broccoli first in the pasta water till tender, then take it out with a slotted spoon and sautee it with garlic and a bit of chili while the pasta boils. You end up with the most gloriously bright green sauce once you've tossed the pasta through with some pasta water.

TheShades · 25/10/2021 18:54

We went to the seaside and had fish (vegan sausage for me) and chips 😋

goldshade · 25/10/2021 19:32

Coquilles St Jacques and runner beans. Delicious.

NalPolishRemover · 25/10/2021 19:34

@goldshade did you make that? Sounds delicious!

Not tonight.
It's Waitrose. I'm really tired so it was a quick pop in the oven dinner.
So delicious though.

MydogWillow · 25/10/2021 19:36

Evening plans were a bit vague so grabbed a Scratch green Thai chicken curry. So good, quick and no waste 👍

troppibambini6 · 25/10/2021 19:39

Minced pork lettuce wraps.

Bloodylovecheese · 25/10/2021 19:44

Veggie stir fry and home made apple crumble for pud

Bouledeneige · 25/10/2021 21:12

I had a parent and chorizo salad with croutons, Parmesan and balsamic dressing. I'm on my own so I alternate more complicated meals with simple. It was simple tonight. At the weekend I made a beef stew which lasted 2 days. Yum yum.
