Anyone else trying to do a Tesco shop and the app isn't working!

I need to amend an order for tomorrow but can't access it.. hopefully it'll be back up soon. What a pain!

Crunchymum · 24/10/2021 13:15

It's being reported on Sky and BBC now.

Hope noone is left truly in the lurch because of this.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 24/10/2021 13:21

My delivery came this morning - luckily had added all the usual weekly items, just had to pop to Sainsbury’s for the bits I hadn’t been able to add. My delivery person had no idea the website/app was down, she hadn’t heard anything about it Confused

Saladd0dger · 24/10/2021 13:24

It’s also knocked out some of our in store apps 😩

GiltEdges · 24/10/2021 13:30

Finally managed to amend my order for tomorrow in the past 5 minutes!

daisychain01 · 24/10/2021 13:31

Thank goodness it wasn't Christmas week!

Glittertwins · 24/10/2021 13:43

@GiltEdges

Finally managed to amend my order for tomorrow in the past 5 minutes!
You got lucky there, I saw your post and thought I'd try - still no joy
WhatHaveIFound · 24/10/2021 13:46

I have an order turning up later today. Was doing my online shop from Italy with the idea of sorting out when we got home yesterday. No such luck though at least I have food in my basket and not just champagne!

Mummapenguin20 · 24/10/2021 14:22

I still cant get on mine

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 14:47

Mine arrived but the delivery man wasn’t very happy when I gave half of it back to him !
Mind you, as I was putting it away I realised that there’s more I should have sent back.

EmmyLake · 24/10/2021 15:03

I managed to cancel my order yesterday by sending them a dm on twitter, only had a few pounds of stuff in the basket, and then got an order from Asda instead. Also booked my Christmas delivery with Asda while I was there.

cate16 · 24/10/2021 15:03

Mine came at 9am, driver told me they hadn't actually been told anything about the problem, and that he only knew about it as a friend had mentioned the problem to him last night.
He said he'd done a few small drops already and people were understanding about the issue- and that he now has an unexpected afternoon off!

h0rsewithn0name · 24/10/2021 18:50

I've just had an email, cancelling tomorrow's delivery. Definitely not what I needed this week, but at least I know what's happening now.

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 21:14

Still can’t get on 🥴

ProcrastinationIsMySuperPower · 24/10/2021 21:26

Nope, nor me.

Barwell76 · 24/10/2021 21:30

I managed to add items to my order using a tip i saw on twitter.

If you use the app you can click on your order to amend it. Then view a previous order you can add these items to your current order and checkout again.

Ahhbiscuits · 24/10/2021 23:48

Mine has just worked! However all my ‘favourites’ have disappeared

FinallyFluid · 24/10/2021 23:52

I am in.

This order is overdues and can not be changed, that is fine just deliver the goods. Grin

FinallyFluid · 24/10/2021 23:54

Ok my favourites are also gone, but this may not be a bad thing, easy to keep clicking on favourites and then food gets a bit samey. IMO

daisychain01 · 25/10/2021 05:44

I'm very surprised they haven't forced people to change their password. The downtime was due to a cyber attack, as I'd predicted upthread, and their response is "we have not reason to believe that customer data has been compromised".

Hmmmm that's very different to saying "we are confident that customer data has not been compromised". In other words they don't really know so they're saying whatever they can to smooth things over. I'm going to keep a watching brief on the headlines for the next little while and change my password.

LovingBob · 25/10/2021 06:11

Fortunately my delivery wasn't until tomorrow but done my order just now incase website gets busy today, I did change my password and although I was originally annoyed about the favourites, I just used recent orders instead to do my shop, it does mean its cleared out all the pages of stuff that I either don't buy or has been discontinued so hoping now that the old favourites don't come back.

FinallyFluid · 25/10/2021 07:15

I have just changed my password.

itsevolutionbaby · 25/10/2021 12:31

I have had a warning from google today prompting me to change all my passwords, due to a data breach from "an app I use". I suspect it's related to the Tesco incident.

lampygirl · 25/10/2021 14:15

With Tesco you can just copy last week's basket into the new slot when you book it, so at least if this sort of thing happens you will get a reasonable amount of food that you should be able to do something with. It always amazes me people just bung a bottle of champagne or whatever in that is obviously useless if that is what turns up unless champagne sorbet was the only thing on your meal planner.

TheOnlyMrsM · 25/10/2021 14:43

I'm not on the app but the website is also having problems still. I logged in ok this afternoon, but while I was finalising the basket it logged me out again and wouldn't let me log back in for a while. The notice said Tesco are aware of the problem and to try again later.

Like others, I've changed the password but what concerns me is that I've had no email from Tesco to warn customers of the hack and advising passwords should be changed at least as a precaution. I know they will want to play it down, but customers' security and peace of mind - trust, I suppose? - should be more important than that.

Maybe it was someone trying to hack the Christmas slots list. Wink
