Anyone else trying to do a Tesco shop and the app isn't working!

I've 4 things in my basket & no email 😩

I really don't want to be woken up at 7am to a bottle of booze & 12 pints of milk

I’m going away tomorrow and wanted to make sure DS had enough food he could cook (properly) for next week.
I usually put all of a previous week in the basket and then amend stuff at the last minute. Think I might have to send it all back as no idea what went in that week.

DerAlteMann · 24/10/2021 00:04

Explains why I couldn't top up a PAYG Tescomobile phone.

h0rsewithn0name · 24/10/2021 06:44

So the site is still down. Has anyone come across any updates?

OwlMother · 24/10/2021 07:42

My card has been charged so I'll have to refuse the order when it arrives. Order was nowhere near complete and has things in that ate no longer required. Customer services phone line not open and no answer on Twitter.

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 07:45

I was trying to change mine at 10 pm last night but couldn’t. I Facebook messaged them but have still had no reply.
God knows what I’m getting today, most of it will be going back as I always fill my basket when I book, then remove what I don’t want.

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 07:47

Just gone on line and it’s still down.
I’ve had no communication so I don’t know if I’m getting a shop or not !

user1471530109 · 24/10/2021 07:48

It's still down! I thought it was just the app but it's the website too. How long has it been down?..Close to 24hrs? You think there would be emails sent to all customers that use their system. Or something via the media?or am I over reacting Grin?

AnkleDeep · 24/10/2021 07:49

We got our delivery yesterday.

OwlMother · 24/10/2021 07:52

I think it's been down for 24hours now.

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 07:55

I’m wondering if they’ve even got our contact details if the whole thing is down ?

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 24/10/2021 08:04

Still down. I got an email recently saying that the government has told supermarkets to delete the data they gave them about cev people and they would be offering the same service so reply opt in if you wanted to be able to use priority slots.

I wonder if it's to do with that. Someone's cocked up and done a massive data deletion or something. It's been a while day and Tesco are still claiming it are working on it but they aren't giving people any idea what's actually wrong so I'm guessing it's something big.

QueenLagertha · 24/10/2021 08:04

I'm waiting on a delivery this morning. 5 bottles of wine I'll be handing back to the driver. I tried ringing last night and sent an email asking to
cancel order.

user1471530109 · 24/10/2021 08:32

I'm CEV and a Tesco delivery pass customer and I didn't receive an email?

Anyway. I've placed an order for Morrisons as I can't be doing with the stress this week. I'm guessing Tesco are working hard to rectify it. Will be interesting to see if those with orders today turn up. I would imagine yesterday's orders would have been downloaded first thing before the website went down.

Fingers crossed it's sorted asap.

GoodnightGrandma · 24/10/2021 08:33

I believe they print the orders out at midnight , so I can’t see me getting anything today. I’d just like to know either way.

Lightisnotwhite · 24/10/2021 08:35

Blimey. Still down. I hope it’s not a data breech.
Somebodies weekend is ruined ( plus the hundreds of thousands of us that are waiting on deliveries).

daisyducky · 24/10/2021 08:37

I tried to amend the order at 6am yesterday and it was down then.

Our order arrived at 7am, 12 pints of milk, a bottle of champagne and some baking paper.

My husband accepted all except the champagne as that's what I use
for holding the slot.

I would have probably refused it all. I'm concerned we will be penalised for a basket under £40 & have paid £5.50 for items that cost less than this.....

Why didn't he just decline the whole order?

How are you going to use / store 12 pints of milk?

Yes you probably will end up paying the delivery fee as you've spent less than the minimum (although hopefully Tesco will refund it if you call them up..... and can get through to someone!!)

Crunchymum · 24/10/2021 08:42

and = if

Crunchymum · 24/10/2021 08:42

FFS

"If you can get through to someone"

daisychain01 · 24/10/2021 08:43

Here is what their website still says Grin

Good old Zoe Evans, I wonder if she's really called that, or if it's a made up name - just marking time waiting for the site to come back up again. Could it have been a cyber attack....

Tesco app not working!
NumberZ · 24/10/2021 08:46

I’m due an order this morning, it should be mostly things we need but I do review it on a Saturday usually.

Lightisnotwhite · 24/10/2021 08:53

I try and get as close to £40. I’ve returned items that have dropped me below the free delivery threshold and not been charged.

I cab’t believe this isn’t in the news. Our biggest supermarket has its accounts out of action for 24 hrs and no ones mentioning why?

QueenLagertha · 24/10/2021 08:57

My order just arrived. I sent it back. The driver was understanding

Zeflyinghelmetandzevetcelery · 24/10/2021 08:58

@user1471530109 I think the CEV emails were only sent to people in Scotland. Mine said:

"You may have been contacted by the government recently to say that supermarkets will no longer have to provide access to priority delivery slots for customers in Scotland.

At Tesco, we feel this service is still important, so we’ll continue to provide this support.

However, if you no longer want access to our priority 8-hour slots, you can opt out by simply replying to this email with the message, ‘Opt out requested’."
