We only get a week off so I have the week off so we're going away for 3 nights and I have them booked into a light show and another day of a Halloween camp.

GTAlogic · 13/10/2021 13:56

Nothing. We have no money. They'll be happy enough just playing out with friends on the street or hanging about the house playing, watching TV and reading.

Indoctro · 13/10/2021 13:59

First week they have a 2 hour sports camp

Mon to Thursday

Saturday we going swimming the Tubing at local dry ski slope

2nd week we have booked a static caravan at a park with pool and entertainment etc so heading there

Will also go cinema as they want to see a movie that is out

Doughnuts68 · 13/10/2021 14:55

What’s the addams family like?

Have a couple of days booked in to see family. Other than that they'll have to amuse themselves (or do a lot of leaf clearing if there's bickering and whinging) like I did.
You're all very organised with booked days out and all sorts. One of these days I'll magically turn into that parent 😂

ineedaholidayandwine · 13/10/2021 15:36

Holiday club

Can't take time off work due to key period, no grandparents nearby. Very fortunate we can afford it, and that she loves being there.

elliejjtiny · 13/10/2021 15:40

Youngest is having an operation so we all have to isolate Sad

Soubriquet · 13/10/2021 15:42

Fuck all. No money, no transport and working.

Will try to do some crafts with them but apart from that, no trips

Bbq1 · 13/10/2021 15:45

So jealous of everyone with 2 weeks off. Only a measly week here. Where are you in the UK that does that long for ht?

DoucheCanoe · 13/10/2021 15:50

@elliejjtiny, hope the isolation passes happily for all of you and wishing your wee one a speedy recovery Flowers

@Doughnuts68, we're off to see it in a bit so will get back to you on that later. We watched the first one last week on Netflix and really enjoyed it so hopefully it's as good :)

DoucheCanoe · 13/10/2021 15:54

@Bbq1 we're NE Scotland, no September break here so we get 2 weeks in October.

It's the tattie holidays so traditionally was spent harvesting the potato crops by hand with the kids off school to help out.

EsmeeMerlin · 13/10/2021 16:16

Only one week here in East London. We have shrek’s adventures and sea life booked on the Saturday and then we are at Butlin’s Monday-Friday. Halloween party at my sister’s on the 30th and we will go to my mum’s on the 31st. She decorates for Halloween and loves it more than the children.

FrownedUpon · 13/10/2021 16:35

2 weeks here as well. We’re going away on holiday & can’t wait!

OhamIreally · 13/10/2021 16:53

One week only here - going to Tenerife and I can't wait to get away from work. We are counting down the days Grin

Snowdropsandbluebells · 13/10/2021 18:24

Tenerife will be amazing. Enjoy

CurryLover55 · 13/10/2021 18:38

DD12 has 2 weeks off. I’ve booked the first week off but because of the days I work, I don’t go back until halfway through the 2nd week. We haven’t got any Halloween themed activities planned. DD has asked for a couple of sleepovers & a shopping trip. We’re meeting up with her half brother at a play centre. Will probably go swimming & DD needs to “ break in” her rollerskates. I fancy a trip to the seal sanctuary.

crackofdoom · 13/10/2021 18:49

DS2 has 2 weeks off. This is not normal for our area; the school just decided to roll all its inset days together and slap them onto the week after half term “so you can all have a lovely holiday”. Except that DS1 is now in secondary, which doesn’t do such a thing, so we can’t, can we? 🙄

I’ve got as far as trying to book a childminder for some of the second week, and asking my ex ( lone parent) when he’s planning to have them over half term. He normally takes days to get back to me; it’s been 48 hours and counting so far 🙄 (he never initiates the “When am I having them over the holidays?” discussion, it’s always down to me).

jd88123 · 13/10/2021 18:51

Alton towers scarefest!!! Wohoo can't wait.

BlueThursday · 13/10/2021 18:52

On day 6 of 10 here and so far we’ve had a tour of a local stadium, cinema, a birthday party snd friends over for play dates.

We’ve got a couple more play dates lined up; I’m done in Grin

NotThisWeekSatan · 13/10/2021 18:55

Us too, lots of fingers and toes crossed that I manage to work out the paperwork and the tests all come back in time and negative. Enjoy!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/10/2021 19:04

I'm working most of it. At the weekends We are going to a local fair, a Halloween trail round our local park and pumpkin picking at a farm.

itsgettingwierd · 13/10/2021 19:07

I have a hospital appointment.

Ds has a hospital appointment.

Ds swims most days.

Other than that we will chill, possibly cinema, walks a few times.

I'm meeting a friend for lunch one day.

Porfre · 13/10/2021 19:08

Omg, are we supposed to be organising stuff?

I'm usually working and they stay with their dad. Maybe visit some family.

Depends on the weather.
But this year I've taken the week off. So will see. Maybe a trip out to the farm depends on the weather- there is pumpkin picking. But not much more than apart from visits to family
