I only ever hear these words on MN.
Do the people who use words like these actually use them in rl?
Equally do people who use the f and c words a lot on MN use them as much in rl?
Just curious Grin

My use of swear words is tiered:

I use blimey, crikey, cripes, Lordy, but only use gosh when someone is telling me a story they clearly believe is astonishing but I don't agree Grin

For God's sake is the next level up And twat, should a personal insult be required. And pillock.

Then wanker (almost always solely reserved for bad male drivers)

Bloody hell is next.

And only if I'm beyond incensed will I use the word fucking. Then everyone knows I'm seriously angry and don't mess with me.

I once used the word cunt(not in an argument or anything) in front of DP, who sprinkles his conversations liberally with the word, and there was a shocked silence. He was very discombobulated.

I try and incorporate fuck and cunt into at least one sentence every day. It's good for the soul.

makelovenotpetrol · 12/10/2021 18:59

I swear like a fucking trooper.... But I never say oh my god, I say oh my gosh. Because I'm a staunch atheist and oh my god is meaningless to me

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 12/10/2021 19:01

I use gosh when kids are around. Never use crikey. Do use blimey - quite often "Blimey O'Reilly!"

StormyTeacups · 12/10/2021 19:03

I also say oh my word, and oh my goodness a lot. I do work with primary school children though so probably a good habit to stick with.

Sometimes' 'oh bum'.

lnsufficientFuns · 12/10/2021 19:05

Gosh fuck and cunt are my three favourite words

Sometime a quick “help ma boab”or Jings will creep in

NigellaSeed · 12/10/2021 19:10

I say omigosh and blimey a few times per hour.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 12/10/2021 19:12

Also, "oh you...twit!" Is my exclamation of choice when I've got the kids in the car and another driver or a pedestrian does something daft/dangerous/arrogant.

Etinoxaurus · 12/10/2021 19:16

I use Gosh here in the place of Biscuit
I love ‘did you aye?’
Workplace is Christian so the strongest we use is crappy. And there’s lots of golly and ‘oh my days!’

AmberLynn1536 · 12/10/2021 19:38

I say gosh, golly, crikey, crumbs and I’m rather fond of a toodle pip, sometimes shortened to toodles.
