What did you get for your 21st birthday?

Looking for some good ideas for DD’s 21st birthday.

A good quality waterproof jacket (I worked in the highlands at the time, and was about to go travelling). Proper breathable waterproof jackets that roll up small were very pricey back then! I was happy, used it lots, and it lasted about 15 years.

A necklace from my grandma. It was silver and like a Celtic torque.

Hiking boots and lifetime membership of the YHA.
57 years old now and still using the YHA membership! My most recent stay was 3 weeks ago at Swadlincote. Earlier this year I stayed at Swanage YHA

An overseas holiday which I took which my boyfriend.

A food processor which I still have and use 25 years on. I think we watched a lot of ready steady cook at Uni and they used a food processor lots...... I can't think why else I wanted one!

Ex-H (who was still BF at the time) got me a spice rack! Not even a particularly nice one. The sort of thing you get in Home Bargains. (Not that there's anything wrong with Home Bargains but not exactly where you'd shop for a special 21st present for a girlfriend!)

A full set of Samuel Pepys's diaries. I read them all, still have them and occasionally take a glance. These days I could fit it all on a Kindle instead of 2 and a half feet of bookshelf!
Fiancé at the time gave me a sapphire pendant necklace and matching earrings. I don't wear them at all but have kept them.

A Cartier watch.

My parents came to visit and bought me a necklace and something else (earrings?) from a local jewellery shop and took me and my boyfriend for a slap up meal and a LOT of wine at the local Italian restaurant. It was a great night.

My grandparents got me a Rolex and my parents a Theo fennel key necklace. My family really go all out for 21st birthdays. 18th was a non event compared.

My mum sent me and my partner to Rome!
I wasn't expecting it at all, and it's not the sort of thing she could have afforded very easily so I was a huge surprise. Very much appreciated!

I believe it was a groupon deal, and it was for a long weekend and just perfect!

Technically I still haven't had one...i asked for a painting but 7 years I still haven't picked the damp thing....

My nan bought me a decent set of knives though.

A really lovely gold Michael Kors watch and a Mulberry purse, two of my favourite items I own.

Can't remember! The condom split that night though, so had to get the morning after pill!

Matching Radley luggage for my first holiday with my then boyfriend/now husband. 32 and still use it now! I love it!
