Ocado Christmas slots

So I get some sort of priority Christmas booking on Ocado and it started today. When I woke at 3am I thought brilliant, I'll get a Christmas Eve slot.

But no. The nearest Christmas I can get at 3am on the day that priority booking opens is Tuesday 21 December.

Is there another super super VIP Ocado list that was allowed to book their slots before me?

Or did everyone else set their alarms for one minute past midnight and hoover up the early slots?

There's no ocado slots I can book but I've easily booked 2 waitrose ones for 20th and 24th.

Can I ask how you’ve done this as waitrose haven’t released their general Christmas slots yet - do you have certain type of account with them or something?

I got an email telling me I could book my Christmas slot and did so….. last week some time….. I’m booked in for 23rd December.

I’m not aware that I have a special account. I’ve only been using them since November last year….

Lucky you to have been able to book already :) I have to say it does seem a bit unfair though for waitrose to release slots early to a few people who then book two Christmas week slots before everyone else gets a chance to book even one!

I order from Waitrose every week so I think that’s why I got a Christmas slot so early. I can still see availability on my app for Christmas week.
I’m going to give up on Ocado.

I've totally given up on Ocado, I'm having one last delivery before my smart pass expires, some Christmas stuff for the freezer, and then I'm done.

Waitrose Christmas slots opened for me last week, I order from them maybe every three weeks (mostly I use Ocado).

I do have a My Waitrose card, I don't know if every customer gets one or if it confers special powers? They sent it to me after my first order a couple of years ago. However I can't be that special as during Lockdown1 I couldn't get a Waitrose delivery for love nor money.

I've got one of those cards too and get a delivery every 2 weeks but they haven't opened up for me yet 😭Oh well first world problem and all that!

@DiamondBright I've just had the free delivery voucher (already got my slot a few days ago) and it says that if your pass isn't active on that date then the voucher wouldn't be valid and you would have to pay the delivery fee - so the slot must still be valid ❤️ hope that helps!

Got a waitrose slot for the 22nd this morning, so think I’ll cancel Ocado. I really resent paying the £9.99 delivery fee!

Waktrose specifically opened up earlier for priority ie previously shielding & elderly customers

Just got my first ever Waitrose slot, on 21 December. Beyond excited (we need the Christmas emojis @Mumsnet)

@legosunqueen they are able to use all year, just not on the menu, just add f after the bracket, before the word so this is fsmile with brackets around

Sorry this is not relevant to the Christmas issue but my parents have smart pass and I do their ordering. I thought all deliveries were free but some you pay for? Is this correct?

Also can only book as far as 21st December for them.

@Marmitecake it depends on the smartpass, if it's anytime then all deliveries are free but if its midweek then any out of these days will be charged for

Christmas you have priority booking but have to pay for delivery, however lots seem to have a free Xmas delivery voucher this year, but not all so not sure if they'd have received one

Lastly, the slots go live at midnight on the date they were given access, and the 23rd/24th go very quickly, then the 22nd and last to go is the 21st. Lots of people have been complaining that it's the first year they haven't been able to get a slot though

Can anyone else not even view all the days in Dec? It will only let me view 20-22nd and there aren't any anyway- won't let me click the previous or next 3 days?? So frustrating!

@EdenFlower the previous days will only be able to view/book ahead within the normal x weeks ahead like the rest of the year

Not sure why you can't view 23rd/24th though?

Got an email today saying Christmas slots with a £10 off voucher so booked 24th

Always had Ocado until they started the m&s prepared crap stuff anc stopped having any actual ingredients
