Ocado Christmas slots

So I get some sort of priority Christmas booking on Ocado and it started today. When I woke at 3am I thought brilliant, I'll get a Christmas Eve slot.

But no. The nearest Christmas I can get at 3am on the day that priority booking opens is Tuesday 21 December.

Is there another super super VIP Ocado list that was allowed to book their slots before me?

Or did everyone else set their alarms for one minute past midnight and hoover up the early slots?

I am a super duper customer (seriously, never had 1s wait for a slot through the pandemic) and I booked my slot Wednesday morning. It was like a pristine nirvana- could have chosen any day any time.

I didn’t see my email but was randomly editing a shop this morning for tomorrow and saw that I was able to. Loads still available in SE London. I got night of 23rd all the morning slots were gone but I was fussed what time I got it.

Not in my bit of SE London! I had a handful on the 22nd but none after that. Unfair!

Mil got 1 to 3 on the 23rd. Had to spend 90 to reserve it

I got an email today saying I can book from tomorrow, but my smart pass expires later this month and I'm not renewing. As I'll be charged £9.99 for a Christmas Eve delivery anyway I'm thinking if I book tomorrow while my smart pass is still active my slot will still be valid when my pass expires?

Any reason this won't work ?

Is it £9.99 with or without a smart pass or more without? I've had an Ocado Christmas delivery for years but never without a delivery pass.

Definitely stay up and book at midnight btw. One year the system didn't come online at midnight and I fell asleep, when I looked again at 6am there were no Christmas Eve slots (I got one when more opened up later) but usually that's the best plan.

Mine is now offering some on the 22nd. I’d really like the 23rd so now I have the dilemma of do I grab the 22nd, or do I wait and see if more are released?

I would book 22nd, you can already change it or cancel, more slots are usually released if you keep checking.

I only joined Ocado Smart Pass recently. My email says that slots are open from tomorrow - so thanks for the tip about staying up until midnight! I'm hoping that the staggered opening will mean that they don't have the same problems with the website / app crashing like Tesco do!

@DiamondBright can you switch delivery slots if a better one does appear then?

Today was my day so I booked a slot at midnight, lots of choice then. I went and looked at the T and Cs that were linked in a change of terms email sent this afternoon. The language is clearer in that that the charge for canceling applies if you do it in the 14 days prior to delivery. That makes more sense to me and I too thought the initial message was very ambiguous.

@TheOneWithTwoParties Yes, up to 14 days before the slot. They definitely release more slots as they allow more people to book, there will be more slots for the 23rd and 24th you just have to keep checking, if you edit your booking you can take the option to change your slot and if there isn't one you want to swap to just cancel the edit.

I logged in at 7am this morning despite not having had an email. The latest I could book was 21st December. Haven’t actually had the official email yet. I did get an email a while back saying that I would hear when I could book and that I’d get a voucher fir free delivery - but…. Nothing…..

I've booked the 22nd and honestly not a moment to soon as now the slots have pretty much gone. Thanks!

Sorry if this is obvious but are you clicking the specific part for Christmas slots as opposed to a regular slot?

I definitely was. I don't think I can even book slots far enough ahead to do it any other way.

Done! I got a morning slot for the 22nd, there were still plenty of Christmas Eve slots available, but I don't want to cut things too fine in case of any substitutions/missing items. 23rd already fully booked apart from some late night slots.

Did anyone manage to get a slot? Stayed up until midnight and no slots showing as available!! Aghhhh

I had an e-mail saying I could book a Christmas slot from 2nd October but when I go on, it only shows dates up to end of October. Should I be going somewhere different to book for Christmas?

Nothing later than the 22nd in my area and only late evening slots. I've booked but I'll cancel if I can get a Christmas Eve slot from Morrison's .

I've got a Morrison's pass as well. To explain I've only had two delivery passes because one was a freebie, I've decided to stick with Morrison's because they were brilliant in 2020 and Ocado was useless. I'm not sure why I renewed my Ocado pass last time to be honest, I went with a mid week one and haven't used it much, I thought it would work OK WFH but it doesn't.

I've got a last Ocado delivery booked for next week with an M&S Turkey crown and a few other bits for the freezer and pantry.
