What did you do for your 30th?

I’ll be 30 in April and I like to go all out for birthdays so need to plan well in advance especially as it’s over the Easter holidays. There’s so many options but I’m a bit stuck for ideas.

Keen to hear what others did for their 30th.

I had a Harry Potter party 😊

DH booked me a helicopter flight over London. It was amazing!

@LukeEvansWife did you want to spend the night yourself? Massive hugs if you didn't. X

I lived in Edinburgh at the time. Almost 20 years ago. Hired a cheesy limo with some friends. We had a brilliant night. First time I had been in one.

Went to the pub for dinner with OH and a friend. This thing for making a big fuss about 30th birthdays is a bid odd. Why is it more special than turning 20 for example?

BlondieFondie33 · 25/09/2021 08:02

@Washeduponthebeach I’d imagine because 21 is a big birthday celebration. I don’t see how someone making a big fuss at turning 30 (or any age!) is odd at all.

Dear Lord; that was nearly FIFTY years ago... lol...

Took my dds to the (then!) newly opened trampoline park in the morning, took my grandad out for lunch then had a big party at a pub with friends/family. Weekend after, went to Lisbon with sils, weekend after that went to Florence with dh and our 2 best friends. Lovely!

We were buying our first house and were practically living hand to mouth to cover the expenses (once we’d moved our mortgage was 1/3 of the rent we’d been paying). DH saved up for extra fuel so we could go out to my favourite Indian restaurant in Sheffield - where we’d previously lived, but had moved about 20 miles away for both our jobs. So the fuel + meal was < £40 I’d say, but it was a really lovely thing to do at the time.

Who gets a post removed on a birthday thread??
Confused

I checked the post and my decree absolute had arrived.

I then went back to wrangling children single handedly, like every other day.
