What did you do for your 30th?

I’ll be 30 in April and I like to go all out for birthdays so need to plan well in advance especially as it’s over the Easter holidays. There’s so many options but I’m a bit stuck for ideas.

Keen to hear what others did for their 30th.

I was about 5 months pregnant when I turned 30. I had a week of sight seeing around my home city (Cardiff) went to the castle, stadium tour, boat trip from town to the bay, etc, all the things I'd never done despite living their my whole life. I also had afternoon tea in St davids Hotel with my family and friends. On my actual birthday, take away at my parents with my sister, dh and 1 year old ds. Actual had a really lovely 30th. Roll on my 40th in 2 years!

DH then DP and I went to Cyprus on holiday. We went to a local restaurant for dinner.
Walking into the restaurant I spotted tables with 30th balloons on them. I was so busy looking at the balloons I failed to spot dd who was 15 at the time sitting with my mum and all my siblings and inlaws and best friend. DH had arranged for them all to fly over for my birthday. We were still partying at 7am the next morning 🎉🎉🥂

Cleared my horses field of shit, on my own, in the rain, because ExH was always an arsehole on "occasions".

I had just given birth to DS so I went for a lovely meal with DH and our best friends. I didn't want anything bigger.

Gosh @ParkheadParadise what an amazing surprise and what a lovely DH you have!

Went to Frankie and bennys . A crap birthday tbf but my husband had been critically ill weeks before

5 months pregnant and went to Cadbury's world for the weekend.

35 weeks pregnant staying in a castle in Scotland…I was in bed with a glass of milk by 9pm !

I had a big party at a bar in London, joint with three uni friends.

I had three DC under four when I was 35, so looking back it really feels like the end of an era.

DP got tickets to see The Book of Mormon in London, we had a fancy dinner beforehand as well

It was my first proper night out since having DC1. Normally one of us would drive so other could drink but DH booked us taxis and took me to a really posh restaurant and for champagne cocktails. I'm sure we were home by 11pm but it was such a lovely evening.

Went away for the weekend with H. One night in a hotel and second night in a castle. I loved it but it was all booked as a surprise so I was really worried beforehand it would be a party as I would hate that.

I went to Paris, it was fab!

It was 26 years ago! but had a big joint party with a friend at a bar in Richmond upon Thames overlooking the river and then onto a club. I was dating a guy I had the real hots for, so it was a perfect evening! No reader, I didn't marry him!!

Nothing special but I left my ex a week after this big birthday and it was the best gift I could ever have given myself.

Had a party at home, probably should of booked somewhere as there was a lot of people, peaked too early and passed out just after midnight 🤣 was whisked away two days late by my partner for a luxurious overnight spa break!

We were supposed to go Paris but the Eurostar caught fire.

So we went out for drinks and a meal with friends instead - and I got food poisoning.

So we went to Devon the following weekend for a mini break - and I got food poisoning again.

My 40th was nice...

Snagged an ex boyfriend

Nice dinner in central London.

I caught German measles and was extremely ill for nearly 3 weeks! - was actually diagnosed on my birthday!

My birthday is on a really shitty day of the year for a birthday, and because of that people usually don't want to come out to play. I went to see Joseph at the theatre and to a seafood restaurant. For my 40th I went to Las vegas.

The sad thing is he didn't make up for it on my 40th either
