My absolute favourite is "We don't need no education", followed closely by "You're dressed to kill ... and guess who's dying?"

What are your favourites?

You will be first against the wall
With your opinion
Which is of no consequence at all.

You're The Measure of My Dreams from me too. From a Rainy Night in Soho. It has a rather lovely Irish cadence to it,

Kiss me again

So many...

Billy Braggs "The revolution is just a T-shirt away" and "If you've got a blacklist I want to. be on it" and "I've had relations with girls from many nations, I've made passes at women of all classes" (you have to imagine the accent).

James "those who feel the breath of sadness, sit down next to me; those who find they're touched by madness, sit down next to me; those who find themselves ridiculous, sit down next to me. In love, in fear, in hate, in tears..."

Prince "She walked in through the outdoor"

Eurythmics "We were feeling very small underneath the universe"

The whole of positively 4th street by Dylan and the whole of The River by Springsteen,

And the one man band by the quick lunch stand was playing real good for free.
Heard this a few weeks ago and it's been in my head ever since.

Also 'she was giving me head on the unmade bed while the limousines wait in the street...she said she preferred handsome men but she'd make an exception for me.'
Of course I may have got these wrong.

Pliudev · 17/09/2021 17:57

Actually I think it might be 'but for me she made an exception'.

Careless Surgeon - Amateur Transplants (to the tune of Careless Whisper)

I feel so un-sure,
As I cut you up I wonder what's that nerve for,
What does this bit do?
I get so confused,
I'm very sorry Mr. Smith,
I've got some dreadful news.

You're never gonna walk again,
I just sliced your spinal column.
Now you need a ventilator,
Just so you can breathe.
I fucked up your operation,
But try not to be too solemn.
You might not die for 6 more years
Of Christopher Reeve.

Time can never mend,
A careless surgeon's fuck-ups,
My friend.
Not much we can do,
I'm buggered if you sue,

I better grab a telephone and call the mdu.

Everyday's the same,
Cause I try to cure but I just kill and mame.
All those body parts,
Kidneys look like hearts.
Oh why did I do medicine I should have stuck with arts.
And you're never gonna speak again,
You'll have to just make do with thinking.
I'd be stupid to pretend
We'll ever hear you talking.
Dropped inside your wheelchair,
Communicating just by blinking.
Like that fucking s***c,
Professor Steven Hawking.

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star

@Handsoffstrikesagain

It's a beautiful song, albeit very sad and moving, Morissey went and saw the families of those affected by this heartbreaking evil crime, it really hit him deeply apparently and he wanted to dedicate this song to their memory. The horror those children went through, I felt I just had to listen to it. This was very early on in the days of the smiths, the guitar riff is really special, a true song written from the heart of morrisey and marr. It's worth a listen, even just once. My lovely mum hated that lord that campaigned for Hindleys release from prison, the murders were just so so evil. Those poor darling children and their families x
