Favourite TV series that's not on Netflix?

Mariell · 09/09/2021 13:10

I would not know what is on Netflix or not.

Current favourite is Kraft Suspense Theatre.

Are you superstitious and if so please give an example.

Chocolatier9 · 09/09/2021 13:54

Not as a rule, but I will always salute a magpie.

Is there a cookbook you reach for time and again or a chef/cookery writer you trust above others?

everywhichway · 09/09/2021 14:00

Not greatly, but I always greet Magpies and enquire after their families.... Had some nesting in the garden this year, so it's been quite a chatty place here.

Worst date you've ever been on?

Nigel Slater in reply to the previous Q.

So many things I barely know where to start.

Are you in touch with any school friends?

Farfalle88 · 09/09/2021 18:56

No

Farfalle88 · 09/09/2021 18:56

Which outfit that you have worn in the past do you remember affectionately?

everywhichway · 09/09/2021 19:05

Double Denim. Nuff said.

If we all had to wear warning labels, what would yours say?

OP posts:
MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 09/09/2021 20:25

I am totally bonkers

What would you like to happen in Afghanistan?

ChilliChoco · 10/09/2021 00:35

For the Taliban to be overthrown and a female president to take the reigns and rebuild the country.

How many pairs of shoes do you have? (approximate if you have to)

PalacesOfMontezuma · 10/09/2021 07:01

Probably about 20.

What are your plans for today?

MydogWillow · 10/09/2021 07:20

Working. Bit of food shopping. Bit of washing.

Where are you reading this right now?

everywhichway · 10/09/2021 07:24

In the kitchen, making a cup of tea.

What piece of conventional wisdom have you found to be total rubbish?

OP posts:
StarlightLady · 10/09/2021 09:13

Total rubbish: The term “lost” virginity. Sexist language! Nothing is lost from having sex. If you fo it right, a lot is gained.

Are you dreading the winter?

MydogWillow · 10/09/2021 09:33

Does it not mean losing the status of being a virgin? And it applies to both genders surely?

everywhichway · 10/09/2021 09:35

No. If you approach it in the right way there's a lot to enjoy...

What are you really looking forward to at the moment?

OP posts:
everywhichway · 10/09/2021 09:36

Oops. I was replying to Starlight obvs.

OP posts:
MydogWillow · 10/09/2021 09:40

But you're no longer a virgin. You can't gain it back?

Having a coffee

everywhichway · 10/09/2021 09:42

....I'm beginning to wish I'd stayed out of this.

OP posts:
MydogWillow · 10/09/2021 09:50

Sorry to derail Blush

Back to @StarlightLady: love chilly dry days, cosy clothing and comfort food. Dislike less daylight and dreary days.

Have you been away on a foreign holiday this year?

FrankOrTheBeans · 10/09/2021 09:53

Yes, went to the Caribbean.

Would you rather go into the past and meet your ancestors or go into the future and meet your great-great-grandchildren?

Mariell · 10/09/2021 10:16

Great question. The past and meet my ancestors. We have fucked up the world for future generations so I wouldn’t like to meet my descendants as they will be of the opposite mindset to mine.

If you were to write a non fiction book what would your subject matter be?

larkstar · 10/09/2021 10:54

I am writing about my daughters recovery from anorexia and includes positives about how it has changed everyone - for the better in many ways.

Do you find MN depressing with all of its stories about broken relationships? I do.

Chocolatier9 · 10/09/2021 12:16

No. I find a lot of things depressing but the number of broken relationships featuring on MN isn’t one of them.

What from your childhood do you wish you still had?
