Strange dislikes

What strange dislikes do you have, but you don’t know anyone else who feels the same?

I hate it when someone touches my knees 🙈

The seeds area of butternut squash- I buy pre-cut squash just to avoid having to see it.

Tins that have just been opened with a tin opener. The jagged edge terrifies me.

Platters of cut sandwiches (makes me heave)

Men who have beards but not a moustache - Amish style. Freaks me out. Also long fingernails on men, but I think that freaks a lot of people out.

Also, biting on eggshell in egg sandwich or cooked eggs makes me want to puke. If it happens I have throw the food away (which is why I only eat egg dishes that I’ve cooked myself)

If you’re not a fan of dogs folding their paws, then don’t get a German Shepherd dog!! They all seem to do this, I’ve had many ( and known plenty ). and they all fold at least one paw under! If you unfurl one, they pop it straight back under🤷‍♀️
The sight of fresh fish in shops makes me want to cry.
“Crunchy” cotton wool 😩
Smelly people… hot weather is a nightmare, I feel sick and need to get away from them!
Men’s bare feet esp in sandals…yuck!

Drinking hot drink out of cardboard cups, keep thinking it’s going to disintegrate - also polystyrene cups, have to fight the urge to bite it!🤷‍♀️
People who make loud scrapey noises with their cutlery on plates - Nooooo! Stop It!!
Kids with food smeared on themselves - just yuk! Not funny & not cute!

People touching my ears and particularly sticking a finger in there. I can’t believe some men find it sexy.

Also can’t bear reggae music, something about the speed of the beat vs vocals makes my chest hurt.

Cartons of drink that you have to put a straw into.
Beans with any kind of potato, but particularly mash.
Being licked by a dog.

The yolk of an egg when it bursts in your mouth. I need my eggs cooked through until dry or they remind me of a big mucus pouch, like a bit mouthful of snot.

Those who DH ate dish sponges, what do you use? A scrubber brush?

When you walk on sand and your feet sinks into it gives me the absolute heebie jeebies.

Sponges! funnily enough though not dishes sponges. I can touch them. It's the holes I think in bath sponges etc. The sight of them makes me cringe urgh! Anything with small holes really.

The way things are placed on my plate. E.g...Peas and carrots have to be either side of potato on my plate, meat can't be near potato. I have many!
This is something I often must bite my tongue with and ignore. I know how I like it as does DH mostly but others don't so I don't reshuffle things around, it's too late at that point anyway as the foods have already touched. I can't explain properly really, it makes me irritated/a bit angry/weirdly anxious.
Most of weirdness is food related.

I have to use those scratchy scrubber things for washing up, can't stand natural sponges either. It's the texture.

I can't watch most sports because I can't bear the triumphant kind of expression made by winners. The arms thrown wide, face distorted in a grimace and the look at me glaring. I am sure it used to be discouraged and now it seems to be expected. there is probably also screaming and shouting but I usually have the sound turned off anyway.

Bedroom scenes on TV/film where woman is snuggled into the crook of his (usually)arm... and he is idly running his fingers over her shoulder.
I cannot stand the sight of it..I turn over or look away. I can't bear it... in real life either 😳

Clubs and KitKats taste like the foil they are wrapped in. Even thinking if one makes me shudder, like biting into tinfoil.

Cotton wool, wool, any screechy fabric make some clench my teeth.

Fish in aquariums, the warm damp smell makes it hard to breathe.

Anything in TV or films which is utterly embarrassing, I can't stand it. There was a program when I was a kid, Woof! I think, a boy changed into a dog, and when he changed back to human he was naked. Cringed all the way knowing it would happen.

Touching dry cotton / wood. It makes my hairs stand on ends.

I hate cake and I also hate hot chocolate. The Mumsnet suggestion of "have a hot chocolate" is more like a threat to me

I can't cope with the words nana lounge or (shudder) belly. Especially the B word. This leads to no end of joy for my family.

Tea bags - dry ones make me uncomfortable, used, wet ones make me want to cry & vomit.

Frosted glass or anything with that kind of finish - don’t really like even looking at it, can’t touch it at all (my fingers feel a bit funny just thinking about it)

Paper straws for drinks, omg for the love of christ the horror.

People sticking their tongue out in photos, or even worse, giving the middle finger. It's so classless, even if we know you are classless anyway.

HATE being massaged. Feel sick to the core. I feel like punching people.

Also can't really stand unnecessary close physical contact, hugs etc. Covid had been good for that.

Finding a fish bone or egg shell in my food. I can't eat it any more after that.

Load noises make me jump, a lot more than most people. I hate it.

People handling themselves. As in rubbing on cream, picking skin, the 'm' word...

Bananas - can't stand them, or anything banana-flavoured.

Excess duvet cover .... when the duvet doesn't meet the corners of the cover and there's just a bit of loose, floppy fabric draped over my shoulders {shudder} makes me feel sick.
