Centre Parcs - code brown

Northernlurker · 24/07/2021 19:21

So I'm guessing there are other mumsnetters at the centre Parcs this weekend which has just had a code brown closing the whole pool. We hadn't it even got in! (Could have been worse 😀)

So that's annoying. Really annoying. If you child isn't well don't take them to a fecking pool. If your child is young use a swim nappy and maintain vigilance. How hard can it be?

Dying at all the euphemisms for that other common (on MN) activity at Center Parcs.

I've been around long enough to know that there was once a thread pertaining to "bum sex at Center Parcs", hence the references, but I'm afraid I don't recall how it all began.

As for the code brown...ew.

Shuffleuplove · 24/07/2021 20:19

One of my delightful sons has a plastic poo he’s desperate to fling down the rapids at CP. it’s horribly realistic.

DazedConfusedAndHungry · 24/07/2021 20:20

@IHaveBrilloHair

Is it bad to be wondering if this was an adult who had tried the erm Centerparcs thing for the first time?
That's exactly what my first thought was GrinGrin

My first thought too! Grin

Northernlurker · 24/07/2021 20:24

I will be very clear with dh that this doesn't set a precedent Grin

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww 🤢

That's grim

ipswichwitch · 24/07/2021 20:35

Love to know how you said this politely? Excuse me, your son seems to have shat out the side of his shorts!!!!

SergeiL that’s pretty much what I said word for word 😂 I’d just given DS2 a talking to about being polite, and he was right next to me so I wasn’t going to give him chance to say anything about me being less than polite!

Whatflavourjellybabyisnice · 24/07/2021 20:38

@thewreckingcrew

TbF we were once at a council run pool, and there was a whole fully formed log at the bottom of the pool. They literally just cleared people out of the pool, used a fishing net to scoop it out, then let everyone back in. Everyone was Shock
That exact happened to the pool at a private gym I used to attend. No drainage or disinfectant, just used a little net.
BungleandGeorge · 24/07/2021 20:40

Disposable swim nappies aren’t good enough alone, they need a tight neoprene nappy over the top!

🤣
5zeds · 24/07/2021 20:42

They just fished it out and poured some extra stuff in at centreparcs when we were there. I can’t ever mention it because it makes dh and I practically weep with laughter….who knew we would one day love some little so much we swam in poo water for themShock.

MotherOfDemons · 24/07/2021 20:44

I can see how accidents happen but a 12 hour closure? Are you sure it wasn't vomit or something more infectious?

As an aside, someone talk to me about these Neoprene nappies? Baby will be 6 months when we fly off on holiday and normal swim nappies are fucking terrible. Never heard of neoprene nappies! Do they work? Do they need a regular swim nappy underneath?

SergeiL · 24/07/2021 20:46

Go get the dive stick darling!

Err mum, that’s not a dive stick…

Might have been diarrhoea which isn't easy to just scoop out.

Also Covid 19 can be excreted in poo I think.

Shoeshine283 · 24/07/2021 20:49

This has reminded me of a trip to a soft play centre. We were sitting enjoying our tea and cake while DC played, suddenly they all came running out of the play frame screaming. It was like the scene from Jaws when they all evacuate the water leaving one parent shouting for their child except this parent wasn't scared for their child's life but absolutely mortified that they'd shit them selves then taken their nappy off, gone down the slide, back up to the top and bum shuffled back down the steps. Play was suspended for an hour.

Northernlurker · 24/07/2021 20:49

I don't know why or what. Don't want to dwell tbh Grin

Anniecott · 24/07/2021 20:50

When my son was little he was petrified of learning to swim and my mum was determined she could get him over it and started taking him to swimming lessons, he came home from his first one with the biggest smile on face shouting
'Mum mum, I managed to empty the whole pool today by being sick in it ' !!!!!!!
The second week he vomited just before he got in the pool, he was asked to not come back again 😂
He has since learnt to swim . X

stellaisabella · 24/07/2021 20:54

To be fair accidents happen, even in a swim nappy. There's every chance the child was fine before hand - or even a grown adult with an awful accident. Everyone involved must be completely mortified.
You missed your swim - it's not exactly the end of the world 🙄

NakedAttraction · 24/07/2021 20:56

@MotherOfDemons look up Happy Nappy. They need a swim nappy underneath. I use their washable ones with a liner.

Northernlurker · 24/07/2021 21:03

Umm I don't think I ever said it WAS the end of the world?

YellowClouds · 24/07/2021 21:05

I was once in a hotel in Salou where someone shat in the main pool every day for 4 days in a row, resulting in the pool being shut most of the day for cleaning.

It was a complete pain but it also became quite hilarious as a couple of families decided to set up a poo watch surveillance gang (the poo culprit was never identified-it was a large pool with waterfalls which I think moved the poo about too much to ever tell who it came from) but they got more and more irate every day. I think if they thought they could get away with questioning everyone and checking the inside of swimwear they would 🤮🤮😂 It was quite good entertainment, if completely disgusting!!

Wanttocry · 24/07/2021 21:05

Eew so gross. Selfish parents.

Taking a child you know is ill would be selfish but this could easily have just been an accident with no selfishness involved.

anormalperson · 24/07/2021 21:08

Oh god it's a good thing they closed the whole thing. We were there a few years ago and someone shit in the pool and they only closed part of it 😱 we all got bloody norovirus.
