Looking for recommendations for best vegetarian sausages and burgers please. Some taste like cardboard!

I like veggie burgers made of vegetables/beans/lentils. I can’t stand fake meat! They are getting harder to find though since veganism got popular.
I got some fresh ones from Morrison’s recently, and they held together not too bad on the bbq.

@cannaethink try the asda ones :) they are breaded and go in the oven. We are not vegetarian and have them every other week, they're so good

This is why I like the Tesco Spicy Beanburgers.

Made of actual identifiable beans, meant to look and taste like beans. They are v spicy, though.

Another vote for the Richmond sausages. The only veggie sausages I've had that actually taste like sausages.

cannaethink · 18/07/2021 15:55

@MarianneUnfaithful yeah I like those too but they are a bit too spicy!

Loyaultemelie · 18/07/2021 15:56

Beyond Meat Burger is amazing!
Richmond sausages
Unasked for I know but the only really good (in fact remotely edible in my opinion) veggie bacon is plant kitchen it's lovely!

WouldBeGood · 18/07/2021 16:14

Oh, I like the Tesco spicy beanburgers too @MarianneUnfaithful

ODFOx · 18/07/2021 16:26

My DD loves the Tesco meat free frozen ones, but I think they are dry and wouldn't bbq well: however they do, if fried quickly, with burger sauce, gherkins and cheese, bake a Big Mac as good as a McDonald's one (in her opinion).
For me, a garlicky fat slice of grilled oiled aubergine with a slab of cheese is better than a burger.

Favourite burgers are the Linda McCartney mozzarella quarter pounders.

Favourite sausages are Sainsbury’s Cumberland Shroomdogs.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 18/07/2021 17:03

Cauldron

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 18/07/2021 17:35

Quorn gives me stomach cramps.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 18/07/2021 17:37

And you can't really beat a halloumi burger!

KirstenBlest · 18/07/2021 17:38

Cauldron. I also like Quorn. I had high hopes for the Richmond ones but wasn't mad about them.
I'm not keen on tlinda McCartney ones but they are better than most of the plant-based ones IMO.

LennyAndTheDucks · 18/07/2021 17:40

Beyond burgers and Richmond sausages.

Maggiesfarm · 18/07/2021 17:44

I quite like Goodlife cheese and cauliflower sausages.

AuldFox · 18/07/2021 17:44

Beyond meat are much better than most (I’m a carnivore and that was the closest)

tealady · 18/07/2021 17:44

Don't like Beyond burgers as they are too 'meaty' tasting. Quorn for burgers. Heck or Cauldron for sausages. It's very much personal preference really.

Evasmissingletter · 18/07/2021 17:49

GOSH are good .

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 18/07/2021 17:49

Cauldron. We had to bin the shroomdogs in our house, they were grim.
Tesco used to do lovely Lincolnshire vegetarian sausages but they discontinued them.

NannyR · 18/07/2021 17:51

I like the Beyond Burgers and Cauldron sausages best. Can't stand the Richmond sausages, I thought the texture and taste was vile - I'm not usually one to waste food and will eat things I don't particularly like if I've bought them but I couldn't bring myself to finish the pack of Richmond sausages and ended up chucking them.

RampantIvy · 18/07/2021 17:51

It depends who you are feeding. Vegetarians who didn't hate meat, and meat eaters - Richmond vegan sausages and Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers.

Meat haters who don't like meaty meat alternatives won't like the above.

Sakura7 · 18/07/2021 17:52

I like the Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers and the Quorn hot and spicy ones.

Violetparis · 18/07/2021 17:56

Agree with those saying Cauldron Lincolnshire sausages.

Thank you for the recommendation. I used to quite like the Quorn bacon, but it tastes really sweet these days.

kissmelittleass · 27/07/2021 03:19

The fry burgers I tried the other day were actually quite good!
Not a burger or sausage!!but has anyone tried the vivera range? I saw they did mince and bacon bits.
