Oh my goodness the M&S plant kitchen range burgers are AMAZING. I love them we put them on the bbq all the time.

YY it's personal taste . Normally I stick to Linda McCartney . I find a lot of Quorn very sweet

For mince , I used to buy Real-Eat which vanished . Then Meat the Alternative which changed recipes and now has huge lentils or barley in it . Linda McCartney mince has come back and is a good texture , not full of pulses , gritty or sweet

For bacon, there's one called This Isn't Bacon which is smokey ( smells like kippers) quite dark , nice texture .

I’ve just discovered the M&S ones (someone bought me a pack) the plain ones (not the mushroom of spicy ones). They are actually rather nice. I generally find vegan ones make me feel a bit sicky (there must be something they use in vegan foods - the Quorn vegan range is the same).

MarianneUnfaithful · 18/07/2021 11:46

The favoured choices here are
LMcC Mozzarella Burgers
Cauldron Lincs Sausages
Richmond sausages

MarianneUnfaithful · 18/07/2021 11:47

I like Tesco frozen Spicy Beanburgers.

Reallyreallyborednow · 18/07/2021 11:49

Good life spicy bean burgers
Biona burgers

Most of m&s plant kitchen is good. Tasty without being to “imitation meat”.

WeWantAMackerelNotASprat · 18/07/2021 11:51

Another vote for Richmond here, they fooled my daughter!

toffeebutterpopcorn · 18/07/2021 11:52

Waitrose do a frozen soya burger that’s nice too.

OldTinHat · 18/07/2021 11:55

Cauliflower cheese grills and spicy bean burgers - all supermarkets do their own. Delicious!

AirEngland · 18/07/2021 12:01

Beyond burgers are great.
Although I agree that halloumi and portobello mushrooms make an excellent alternative too.

notlongtilchristmas · 18/07/2021 12:09

Brilliant some more to try thanks! Agree about the Cauldron being good and the M&S chorizo,
Especially good with pasta and sauce. Haven't tried the Richmond, will give them a go. Tried the Tesco sausages and found them to be like rubber.

I have found some have no flavour and taste rubbery or like cardboard.

Linda McCartney used to do a fresh burger with mushroom pate that was amazing . M&S chorizo flavour posh puppies were great and I don’t even like chorizo!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/07/2021 12:25

Tivali Schitzels (in green bag) , not a burger as they're breadcrumbed but delicious .

LeanneBrownsLonelyBraincell · 18/07/2021 12:28

Naked glory or Richmond every time.

Linda Mac 1/4 pounders are good too

Cornwallnewbie · 18/07/2021 12:29

Sainsbury’s shroomdogs and Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers

DoubleHelix79 · 18/07/2021 12:46

Richmond sausages are good. Tried Linda McCartney ones a few years ago and found them vile. Threw most of them away eve though I eat almost anything uncomplainingly.

KarlMaldensNose · 18/07/2021 12:51

Does anyone remember Wicken Fen vegetarian sausages ? They were lovely and I can’t find them anymore but according their website they are still making them. Perhaps it is regional.
I don’t like Richmond as a PP said too meaty and way too salty for my tastes.
I like the standard Linda Mccartney ones but her burgers are too dry
I prefer the vegetable burgers made from vegetables but they don’t hold together enough for barbecue if that is the plan.

Nengineer · 18/07/2021 12:55

Do you get beyond Meat in the UK? I'm veggie and the sausages are too meaty for me. The mince is great and my husband can't tell the difference from real meat (yuck) so it means only one meal between us. I have quite heavily invested in them recently because they are such a strong product.

Nengineer · 18/07/2021 12:56

Also marks and Spencer vegan stuff is good, especially chicken replacements.

Notanewbee · 18/07/2021 12:59

Richmond also do some really really good mince. It works really well in bolognaise and is far superior to Quorn mince imo

MouseholeCat · 18/07/2021 13:26

Beyond for both sausages and burgers!

PattyPan · 18/07/2021 13:33

Yes we get beyond in the U.K. @Nengineer, they are expensive though - £5 for two burgers vs eg £2.20 for two Linda McCartney ones and they’re no nicer to justify it IMO
