🎵 Every day I hear a different story
People sayin' that you’re no good for me
Saw your lover with another
And she’s making a fool of you, oh

🎵 If you love me baby, you'd deny it
But you laugh and tell me I should try it
Tell me I’m a baby, and I don't understand

Go Wham!

I really dislike the head but the deputy head is a lovely woman, it was her who I spoke to this afternoon and her who took my daughter to nursery. She also surprised me back in September when my poor little girl in her first week of reception showed covid symptoms and had to be sent home to self isolate by giving her a cuddle as she was crying - her instinct was to comfort a child rather than push her away. Thankfully she was negative, as she has been the other 3 times she has had to be tested!

Been out and about today no mask, felt really weird at firstBlush. Nobody is shops were funny. In fact lots of staff didn’t have one on, thank goodness.
I was made to wear mask on bus, was not happy especially as there was only me and driver for half the journey! So won’t be going on that bus again for a while.
The sun and the heat is making me bad tempered.
Hope things go well smallandimperfectlyformed.

That's coercive. What about those who can't be vaccinated?

Urgh, this has 'thin end of the wedge' all over it, doesn't it?

Worldgonecrazy · 19/07/2021 18:04

March 2020 was the start of a slippery slope. When does it end? How long will we need to show our papers to take part in those activities we took for granted 3 years ago? Where is our line in the sand? The vocal dementors are absolutely loving this.

The more I learn about human nature the more I think the wipe out of our entire race would be a good thing. I am absolutely sickened by the behaviour of everyone that is clamouring for restrictions and taking pleasure in what is happening.

Angry isn’t a big enough word right now.

And the fact that Johnson has announced this so quickly shows just how compliant they know the population has become in the last 18 months. The government can currently do whatever they want with absolutely no repercussions at all, just a big fat comfy life for themselves and their cronies, whilst playing chess with those they see as lesser-humans as pieces.

I will rant further later.

The other place is absolutely mental just now! Blood on your hands if you don’t wear a mask.. 😱

I've found my people with this thread. The news about the blackmail on young people is about to push me over the age, what a disgrace. Most depressed I've ever felt in this whole farce.

@IRanSoFarAway1 agree. It's awful

Worldgonecrazy · 19/07/2021 18:57

Anyone else wondering what else is going to be slipped through whilst we are all focused on coerced vaccinations?

Higher taxes any day now, plus inflation is going to be tricky to control over the next few years, so we will all be poorer (except those able to afford to be buddies with Whitehall).

I just hope we don’t get severe or hyper inflation, the country is already a pressure pot, stoked by fear, cheap alcohol, an ill educated population and currently cheap food.

They have to get the license trade to agree to this.

Taswama · 19/07/2021 19:53

I'm afraid I laughed when I heard the news about nightclubs. Felt a bit shutting the stable door after the horse had bolted. If they're important do it now, otherwise why bother?

I think it’s more about the guaranteed froth than it is about the actual risk.

Nothing gets the authoritarian covid colonels huffing like photos of young people having fun.

It’s been designed to fan the culture war flames, again. I think anyway.

Because the waiting list for the jab for the young is delayed there's a lot of parents fretting that their child will be off to university with one jab at the most. There's students who won't turn 18 until August so you can't book them in. There's students registered at GP at uni who are now home
smallandimperfectlyformed · 19/07/2021 20:09

All 3 LFTs were negative so I am pleased! Youngest asked to do the test but as she has to self isolate anyway I don't see the point. Spoke to my sister in law earlier, younger brother's DP, and she surprised me by saying if there are any attempts to bring another lockdown in she will be attending the protests. We were all terrified last year when it came in but she, like me, is quite jaded about it all.

Distraction tactic? Vallance announced 60% of Covid hospitalizations are in the double vaccinated right now, which points to the vaccines being significantly less effective with Delta. Who knows where we'll be in 2 months. Also an easy way to try and blame hospitality for the spread again.....
Buzzinwithbez · 19/07/2021 20:25

A very incisive comment from
Twitter

"If people listen to what was said, the vaccine passport proposal is not just clubs- its anywhere where there are crowds

Clubbing just sells it better as people can feel smug about the idea of frivolity being policed.

For instance, I wonder if it will include lecture theatres…?"

Buzzinwithbez · 19/07/2021 20:30

"Sneaky to lead with “clubbing”, knowing how judgemental & puritanical people have become. Everyone hates clubs these days. Unnecessary hedonism.

Maybe if they’d have suggested some of the other likely indications, people would be less in favour."

Plus another comment on a separate thread echoing my thoughts about the odd timing of September and how it's likely to come at the end of an exit wave.

justasking111 · 19/07/2021 20:41

It occurred to me that it's Macron who first broke cover, now Boris watch this space as Merkel and others follow.

Worldgonecrazy · 19/07/2021 21:06

I don’t know if anyone here is old enough to remember the TB / BCG vaccines that used to be given? Everyone would be checked for natural or acquired immunity a few weeks before and those who were found to have immunity did not need the jab.

For those unfamiliar with TB its case fatality rate is over 40% and it is nasty and contagious. Much worse than covid but as it’s a disease that now mostly happens to foreigners with different coloured skin, not so newsworthy.

So why for a lesser risk can we not give people the choice, particularly those young people amongst which we are told covid is being let rip? Surely a huge percentage will be immune and we could save the cost of vaccine and remove the risk of vaccine related injury? Why is that not being given as an option even though other countries accept natural immunity in lieu of vaccinations?

It just adds grist to the conspiracy theorists mill!
