The Radford's life of luxury.

There's no hate In this post. Just watched some of their YouTube content this morning as years ago I saw them on TV. Wow their lives look like one big ball of fun. I'm guessing they have made alot of money from going on TV? Hot tubs and holidays and refurbishing a huge home whilst keeping all those kids in clothes. Not to mention they spend a fortune on every occasion.

I remember it was budgets before. Now it seems they have a never ending supply of money. Certainly not having to count the pennies now. .

Somehow they make family life look constantly fun. I only have 2 children and can't offer mine anywhere near What they have.

They seem to have a lovely family and seem nice people. Just amazes me now how social media has allowed people to get rich for contributing nothing of value to society. Not taking away Noel works hard. Again no hate. But it's ridiculous when normal people struggle to make ends meet.

I see people saying the radfords have a life of luxury a lot on here. If anything it make me feel sad for the people who say it Sad I dont see much about their life that I would aspire to tbh, they don’t have a particularly nice house/clothes. It’s all a bit Argos/Asda for me. The kids all look a bit pasty as well, like they need more fruit and veg. And poor sue looks knackered.

TheyAlLthinkimok · 11/07/2021 11:12

@Sloth66

I don’t understand why they seem to be celebrated. She was pregnant at 13, and seems to have been permanently pregnant since. It’s kids for cash- those kids are exploited and paraded for money by abusive , greedy and neglectful parents
I don’t see abuse neglect and greed

I see a family who have found a ‘gap in the market’ and used that , rightly or wrongly depending on your personal view to generate an income. That’s not greed that is I think being quite clever alongside running their pie business

There is I’m 99.9% no abuse they really don’t seem abused or neglected
I was as a child and I can’t see any red flags here at all but obviously nobody can say definitely but I’d be pretty sure there is no safeguarding issue with the Radfords

Kanaloa · 11/07/2021 11:19

I’d say they seem massively neglected. When do they get time to sit and do homework with mum or have a cuddle on the couch with dad? How is there time to teach them swimming, bike riding? How to they keep up with each child’s individual school progress, friendships, activities? How are they dashing between Anna’s swimming lessons and Michael’s Cubs meeting? They aren’t, their kids are missing out on normal things and not receiving the adequate support. There’s absolutely no way any two people could provide that level of support daily.

There are absolutely signs of at least emotional abuse and neglect unfortunately. At one point the children didn't even have a bed each. They also statistically cannot know what is going on in their children's lives so if something was amiss such as one being groomed or bullied I sadly suspect they wouldn't know.

Plus even with the older children supervising their younger siblings I'd be very surprised if there wasn't lots of accidents and near misses especially as they have a hot tub and laxly supervised toddlers. It's a miracle something tragic hasn't happened to be honest.

No, the family didn’t see a gap in a market. The two parents saw “gap in the market”. (They didn’t really, they saw £££ signs)

Noel removed the bedroom door handles on the children’s rooms at night so they couldn’t come in and bother him and sue.

Exactly. The children had no say in their lives been broadcast tot he world, and their privacy being exploited to generate an income for their parents. As for the youngest children, it's clear that they were born to add to the numbers and keep the gravy train rolling. Sad

When was this ?? I have only been aware of this family recently and going by what I see now but is there a huge back story I’m unaware of ? That sounds concerning
MotionActivatedDog · 11/07/2021 11:33

They have been exploiting their children since there were 14/15 of them. The first or second show of 15/16 kids and counting they showed Noel removing the bedroom door handles.

Ok I’ll admit I’ve only seen what I’m assuming is more recently ? They definitely all have beds - but at some point they didn’t ?

What if there had been a fire 😱
TheyAlLthinkimok · 11/07/2021 11:34

I’ll have to look this up. I had no idea.
There is footage of this ? How come they haven’t been investigated by social services

GreenCrayon · 11/07/2021 11:34

I believe it was in one of their early TV appearances. The fact they allowed such behaviour to be filmed and shown as normal really makes you wonder what they do that they don't want the cameras to see.

Whinge · 11/07/2021 11:35

I believe it was shown in one of the earlier TV episodes. It makes you stop and think though. If they think nothing of locking their children in at night and are happy to show that to the world, then what else goes on when the cameras aren't there.

MotionActivatedDog · 11/07/2021 11:35

Or even, what if one of the children needed their parent?

I had no idea, I hadn’t heard of them before It’s all very odd then, concerning 😞

Exactly Honestly had no idea. It’s an extremely strange thing to do
jasminoide · 11/07/2021 11:37

In one of the TV programs one of the boys said about how each new baby replaces an older child, but that the parents would always remember them and consider them to be their children 😭 It was so sombre for a child his age.

MotionActivatedDog · 11/07/2021 11:42

There is so much about this family that is quite sinister.

jasminoide · 11/07/2021 11:56

The handles being removed from the doors is in one of the early programs, maybe 15 Kids and Counting.

TheyAlLthinkimok · 11/07/2021 11:56

Surely it will end soon though as is the mum mid forties? I wonder how that will affect her though if this is all she’s done I would assune she will go through a bad time emotionally once she stops having babies

Youdiditanyway · 11/07/2021 12:04

I think she’s usually pregnant by this stage. I’m sure she had a baby around the same time I had my baby last July and she’s usually always pregnant again by now so maybe that one really was her last, she is 46 now after all. Just amazed her body hasn’t totally fallen apart, I’ve had 5 DC and my body is wrecked although I did have 2 c-sections and BF them all so maybe that has something to do with it 🤷🏻‍♀️.

DH and I make sure our DC all get 1:1 time but we are exhausted with it and there’s no way we’d have another. I can’t imagine having 22, I really just can’t. It isn’t as if children magically no longer need love and care once they pass the toddler stage. She does seem to be addicted to pregnancy.

Honestly, I fully expect some sponsored IVF situation.

I dont think they actively saw a gap in the market, C4 made the original programme 15 kids and counting about large families. Other large families have been approached by tv companies and turned the offer down. There were 3 or 4 families in the first one or 2 programmes and then, after that it was simply an update each year, with the Radfords adding another baby to their family. Perhaps C4 instigated the focus on the Radfords , or perhaps the other families only wanted to do one show?
The tv programme gave them a platform and presumably a reasonable sum (either money or holidays) in return for making programmes featuring various aspects of their families' lives (mainly new babies) but portrayed and edited to fit C4s agenda. I think they started their youtube vlogs because they were unhappy with the way they were portrayed on C4.

boomwhacker · 11/07/2021 12:31

They live in the catchment area for the well respected Lancaster Grammar schools (boys and girls) and I'm fairly certain that none of the children go/went there. This says something about the value that the parents place on education and providing opportunities (beyond working in the family pie shop or providing grandchildren) for their children.
