@Motherofmonsters I was thinking about a Yoto or Tonie box for DD. Good to know they’re good! :) hope you can all catch up on sleep and rest over the weekend.

@squishymamma you must be so exhausted!! The early starts and being pregnant will be tough. Hope you’re doing ok.

@Chocolatetrifle how is your foot now? Hope it’s feeling better.
My DD would LOVE the scarecrows. She has a thing about them. Not that we see many lol.
Nice idea to make the fat balls for birds. Every week we buy one of those ready made ones and put it out in the garden.

We were at a wedding yesterday. House is sooo messy. 🙈 hoping I can get on top of things, but DD is at the stage where she wants to help with everything. So, we have been making more mess than tidying up lol

Spotted tri-climb on sale at Alfi online £59.99.

Are they worth it does anyone know?

@Chocolatetrifle I just read that they aren’t selling these anymore. They took the name and design from another company. I definitely would have bought one!
The actual triclimbs are £220 though x

Evening fellow trapped toddler parents! Hope everyone has had a good day?

@BeHereNowx32 I've given up on this flat Grin one day I'll get round to the things that need a deeper clean, like the oven...right now just managing to keep the kitchen surfaces and the floors clean feels like a full time job! Great that DD wants to help out though, that'll pay dividends in the long run.

We had a very long exhausting day, and DS still isn't sleeping well so he was tired all day. It's like he is unsettled and worried about something, but I can't figure out what it is. I guess it will go over soon. It was a nice day though, we had people from church over for lunch and then went to a joint birthday party for our niece and nephew.

Off to bed now before the craziness of the weekdays starts all over again...hope everyone gets some sleep.

Chocolatetrifle · 26/09/2021 20:22

@BeHereNowx32, ooooo, that's interesting! Nothing like a bit of design theft to try to make some money hey? Breach of copyright I bet.

Not to worry! Think we will stick with climbing and jumping of the couch then ha!

Glad you had a good time at the wedding yesterday. Hope you've had a more relaxing day today? My foot is green, blue and a bit purple with the bruising but sure it will be fine in a week.

How has bedtime been tonight for everyone? Hope everyone has a decent night and everyone is well. We managed a nice park visit this morning.

BeHereNowx32 · 27/09/2021 09:40

@Chocolatetrifle it must be. I’ve been looking at these for ages, but they’re so expensive!

Bedtime was a bit crazy for us. DD really pushing the boundaries especially at bedtime. She doesn’t play much during the day, then wants to play with everything at night! 🙈 I don’t know what to do with her today. Might take her out on her bike. It’s pouring though.

What is everyone else up to?

Motherofmonsters · 27/09/2021 12:21

Hello, fairly standard night here. We've been for a walk on the beach with my friend, her baby and dogs, then the hairdresser came and I'm now putting DD down for a danger nap as she's tired and didn't go to sleep in the car as planned.

BeHereNowx32 · 27/09/2021 13:22

@squishymamma definitely don’t worry about the cleaning. You’re doino loads! Don’t remember when I last cleaned my oven...

@Motherofmonsters good luck with the nap

Motherofmonsters · 27/09/2021 14:06

@beherenow I'm with you on that one, I'd like to think I've cleaned it this year...

Camomila · 27/09/2021 18:44

Just catching up on all your messages, sorry to hear so many DC have been ill!

We're ok, just been busy now the term's started properly, the homework has really ramped up in year 1, and there's PE kit to wash twice a week which I always remember at the very last minute (just stayed on a peg all half term in year R)

DS2 is good, we're just watching "dinodors" on iplayer while DS1 plays at his friends.

squishymamma · 27/09/2021 19:41

Gosh what a day...DS has learned to nod yes and shake no with his head and obviously everything is no. He also threw half his food on the floor at dinnertime and had a massive meltdown. Still struggling to sleep but Ewan the Sheep definitely seems to be helping. I managed not to shout but I was maybe a bit sharper in my tone tonight and he did not like that at all! Tomorrow is a new day...

Hope everyone has a good night (literally too knackered to write anything else Grin)

squishymamma · 28/09/2021 02:12

DS has been up and running around for an hour and is now complaining in his cot, whilst I have to be up in 2 hours and am now wide awake...send help

Motherofmonsters · 28/09/2021 07:26

Oh no @squishymama, I really hope they went back to sleep for you and you got an hour in.

DD was awake 1-2.30 and DS woke up as he went for a wee in his nappy. Not sure when he went back to sleep as he was quiet enough that I went to sleep I'm now trying to wake him up for school. He seems to have taken his nappy off, luckily he hasn't wet himself

BertieBotts · 28/09/2021 07:31

Oh I've found you all again!!

I'm back with newly 3yo DS2 and 6 week old DS3. Def up for some potty training/new sibling chat D:

We are currently in nursery purgatory because DS2 is off with a cold and like a total idiot I informed them I'd found worms on him on Friday Envy He would have been totally clean by the time we sent him back but they are freaking out and saying I need a doctor's note to send him back now Hmm God I hate this stupid country (not UK) and their weird attitude to worms. I already have to import the treatment from another EU country because despite being terrified of them the treatment is really hard to get hold of and stupidly expensive.

Chocolatetrifle · 28/09/2021 08:22

Sorry to hear of the disturbed nights last night squishy and you too MotherofMonsters* It's exhausting.

Congratulations on the birth Bertie. How did it all go? How is baby? Sorry to hear about the worms. I live in fear of worms and lice to be honest. Hope they clear up soon and you can get DS2 back to preschool.

dS1 has preschool this morning. dS2 is on the screeching before they turn 2 stage which I'd forgotten how awful it is. Plus he is now starting to stand up to DS1 so now we have full on squabbles.

Not sure what to do today with DS2. Yesterday we went to a toddler group which was quite nice. We've been collecting autumn leaves and acorns etc.

Hope everyone has a good day.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 28/09/2021 15:26

Congratulations @BertieBotts! How are you finding things with two?

Can I join back in? Sorry there hsve been so many rubbish nights. DS came in a couple of times for cuddles and DD was wide awake for a couple of hours, so that was fun. She's also started moving around (getting on hands and knees and launching herself forward) so trying to get back into baby-proofing mode. And feeling bad because I'm being really disorganised with her weaning, any activities for DS, and house stuff generally.

On the plus side getting lots of use out of some wooden skittles in the hallway, and our local library no longer limits numbers or time spent, so that's becoming quite a nice walk every 2/3 weeks.

squishymamma · 28/09/2021 16:05

Hello hello and welcome back @BertieBotts and @prettygirlincrimsonrose! Congrats Bertie on your new addition, hope all is going well. I've never given worms a second thought...weird how attitudes differ from country to country.

@Motherofmonsters hope you got some sleep in the end.

@Chocolatetrifle I feel you on the screeching front, we have meltdown after meltdown here and despite knowing several words we just get "ma" shouted at us, which could literally be anything...what did you end up doing today?

DS did eventually go back to sleep and so did I...woke up to find my bike had been stolen during the night. What a day eh Grin anyway it was work and nursery as usual today, DS is happy for the most part and enjoying his cars and garage. Though DH is a bit late with dinner so I predict a meltdown very shortly...

Chocolatetrifle · 28/09/2021 16:22

After collecting DS1 from preschool and giving DS2 his lunch, it was pouring down and we fell into an unfortunate black hole where we just watched TV for 2 hours. On the positive the boys like watching old 80's songs on YouTube and playing the ukele so potentially educational. I got a baker ross mosaic kit which looked pretty but was too small for them so that was a waste. Got my act together and got them to the library for a bit. Currently grating some cheese!

Another positive I have ordered a Tonies box so looking forward to using that

So sorry to hear about your bike @squishymamma.

Hope tonight goes well for everyone.

Chocolatetrifle · 28/09/2021 16:38

*ukulele, sorry for typo.

Welcome back @prettygirlincrimsonrose, sorry to hear about the bad nights. It's so tough when there are repeated get ups in the night. How old are DD and DS now?

Motherofmonsters · 29/09/2021 16:03

It's my birthday today so we went for a nice lunch while DS was at school and DD went to my mum's. Picked DS up at school to be told he threw a bat at lunch time, hit a kid and they had to go to hospital. Absolutely mortifying, the teacher did say it was an accident but they have to monitor him at lunch and if he gets to overwhelmed they might have to do something else with him. I mean the last thing I would let him play with is a bat but he shouldn't be throwing things.

Hope everyone is having a good day

languagelover96 · 29/09/2021 16:28

Prayers to all. I do not have a child but my friend next door has a 18 month old girl and whilst she is sweet, they think she has colon problems.

Chocolatetrifle · 29/09/2021 17:12

Happy birthday @Motherofmonsters Wine Cake

Try not to dwell on the school incident. It was an accident.I certainly wouldn't trust either of my DS with a bat! I'm sure it's not the first time something like that has happened at school. Hope you are ok.

squishymamma · 29/09/2021 20:23

Happy birthday @Motherofmonsters! Hope you had a lovely lunch. Sorry to hear about what happened with DS, I am surprised they let him play with a bat without keeping a closer eye on him - totally agree with @Chocolatetrifle, the first thing my DS would do would be to throw it and then maybe laugh maniacally.

We had a good night last night where DS slept through (or didn't wake us at least), fingers crossed we get another good one tonight! He managed to say 'and this' today which are his first two words together, DH was gutted it wasn't Norwegian but I'm just glad his speech is coming along and was glad to see the superior language won out Grin

Hope everyone has a peaceful night!

BertieBotts · 30/09/2021 08:17

I actually have three now as I have DS1 who is nearly 13 as well! Mainly I keep calling them all by the wrong names :o

The birth was ok, it was really long and drawn out but manageable, just about anyway. DS2 is being very cute with the baby. Baby is adorable but doesn't want to be put down ever!
