I just epilated my legs for the first time

And what the fuck is pretty much all I can say! How do you get used to that!? I knew it was going to hurt but didn’t expect that! I have PCOS so have really thick dark hairs which I don’t think helps me. Please tell me it gets better/easier otherwise I think I might have to give up and be hairy

I did one leg but couldn’t face the other 🙈

@Jessica60 I would recommend just buying the Philips Lumea. By the time you've spent money having sessions you may as well just buy one. It's brilliant 🤩

Am I right in thinking the Lumea is no good on blonde hair? They sound brilliant but my hair's so light I don't want to buy one then it not work.

I’m dark blonde (hair gets darker as it goes further down my legs!!) and Lumea didn’t work brilliantly for me. It did something but not enough, I’ve now switched to laser. Maybe should have persevered but my darker haired friends had results with it much more quickly so I wasn’t convinced it would get there.

I got my underarms waxed for a few months & now the hairs are so sparse I can epilate them every month or so. Could you do that?!

I had to epilate my legs during lock down, even after years of waxing I couldn't do my knees or higher. It's so painful!

I’ve got the lumea. Used it a few times then went back to my epilator. My hairs are thick and dark but I couldn’t get the right angle on the backs of my thighs with the lumea.

It gets so easy eventually, it used to take me an hour to do arm pits cause would have to go so slow and stop and start due to the pain. Now it literally takes 5 mins! I do everywhere, armpits, legs and bikini line and the hairs have gotten a lot sparser and finer too so can do it less often and quicker.

Yes, get your underarms waxed, then keep on top of them with the epilator. It's the only way. I've left my underarms for too long now so it will be painful next time I try.

One of my friends used to epilate her lady parts while squatting over a mirror. It literally makes me cringe to think about it.

I don’t have pcos but I love my epilator and use it everywhere!

I try and do it weekly and do my face, my arms, underarms, legs and fanjo (all off, not just the bikini line)

The only parts I find truly painful with it are the upper lip (that makes my eyes water), the hair right at the opening of the fanjo and the underarms if the hair is too long.

If the hair has grown too long it does draw blood on me.

I was doing my legs once and dh asked what it was so I stuck it on his arm to show him. (He's got hairy arms) Blimey, he shot out the bed like his arse was on fire, and I'd only done about 1/2 inch. I was laughing so much I nearly wet myself. Oh it was funny!

@Curlygirl06 when DP asked what I was doing, I did offer to do it on his leg to show him but funnily enough he wasn't keen on that idea

@Powertothepetal the thought of doing anything other than my legs makes my eyes water! You are very brave!

@Pinkywoo I think I've read that the darker the hair the better, but I did notice that they do an option to pay monthly to try it out, and if it doesn't work for you then you can send it back
