OMG chocolate discovery - where have these been all my life

I was given a box of chocolates for my birthday, have just opened then and I can't believe I have never tried them...

Monty bojangles berry burst - they are raspberry flavoured with popping candy, and so absolutely delicious.

Anyone want to share any other delicious discoveries ?

Monty Bojangles aren't chocolate though. The primary ingredient is vegetable fat followed by sugar and then cocoa powder and much further down is cocoa butter at less than 5%. I find them terribly greasy.

Tony's Chocolate 😍😍😍

Lidl & Aldi's chocolate is pretty much all nice, far nicer than Cadburys, Thornton's etc

@swapsicles yes these are v good. Wasn't expecting them to taste even half as lovely as they do.

I’ve stopped buying Tony's Chocolonely as I can’t cope with the irregularities of the bar. I just want to break off a square. It’s a shame as it was lovely and suck thick bars but a nightmare to try and eat.

I did have a wow moment with those Monty ones but went off them after a while. The little gold pyramids you get at Cafe Nero are divine.

I got a bag of “factory seconds” from hotel chocolat, hearts lychee and rose fondant stuff inside. They were amazing!

I also really miss green and black’s milk chocolate with salt, I can never find it :(

My favourites are the hazelnut praline Ritter Sport in the navy blue wrapper, and Hotel Chocolat carrot cake chocolates in the little 6 packs. Tastes just like real carrot cake, only better!

You disappointed me, OP. Who likes popping candy past the age of 9?! Grin (In fact, who likes it at all?)

I think I bought some Monty Bojangles once in some cardboard pyramid thing at Christmas. They were so overpriced for what you got (overpackaged grease).

So, I'm not sold on the old MBs, OP, even though I think you may be some sneaky marketing person trying to wangle more sales.....

@CurlyhairedAssassin I'm 54 and I love popping candy! It makes me so happy ( pathetic!). I even bought myself a tub of it from Amazon and eat it by the spoonful. It's the little things in life that keep me going!

And their deluxe range hot chocolate with chilli

Really, @ProperVexed?! What is it that you like about it? Is it the nostalgia of childhood chocolate? I remember Space Dust being a thing.

Oh yes to the M&S flakey truffles. Amazing.

M&S were also responsible for a box of chocolates I got as a present that included a mango caramel one. That was gorgeous.

Ritter Sport salted almond. I bought a bar last week and put it in the fridge - discovered yesterday that DH had eaten it all. Angry

Actually pretty much any Ritter Sport. I used to live in Germany and loved the Olympia one, no idea if you can still get that tho.

@CurlyhairedAssassin Ref popping candy, and with apologies to OP for diverting off thread slightly, it is nostalgia and the rather odd and scary sensation of something exploding in your throat. Perhaps it is a slightly dangerous thrill....I've led a sheltered life and must get out more!

I haven't had this for a while and covid doesn't help but there is an Irish brand of handmade chocolate called Aine and I just love their Zesty Lime dark chocolate bar. Much superior to the one by Lindt. I last bought some in a shop in Dalkey and the Avoca shop at Powerscourt when staying in Dun Laoghaire. Bit gutted they don't sell it in the Avoca shop in Belfast but have just discovered that I can buy it online.

Montezuma’s milk chocolate with chilli and lime. Tastes kind of odd to start with - challenges your tastebuds. So you try a bit more and, the next thing you know, you’ve scoffed the lot.

The Monty Bojangles vegan dark chocs with cocoa nibs are gorgeous.

Hotel chocolate dark choc liquid caramels and nearly all of their boozy truffles.

Why is rotter sport called sport? I always thought it was a bit like Lucozade and you could only have it as an energy boost Blush
