I need to watch something and cry!

I’ve been dumped by my boyfriend (who’s also a colleague) and am gutted, but also have to go into work tomorrow where everyone will be talking about it.

What can I watch so I can get some of this out?!

I’ve watched the friends reunion this afternoon which has helped slightly, but I need to up the ante now! Any suggestions?

It’s a Sin made me properly sob.

What about them Long Lost Family shows with Davina? I literally sob my heart out.

Cake. Jennifer Anniston is amazing in it and it's quite bleak but with an ending that feels hopeful.

Steel magnolias - every single time for me.
Just watched the last series of west wing - Leo mcgarrys death has had me in buckets.

Not a film, but I find that breakup song by Little Mix very positive, shout out to my ex..

Just watched Paddington 2. I always cry. It is wonderfully funny and warm too so a lovely combination.

Long lost family

It’s a guaranteed cry but an uplifting warm one

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 13/06/2021 19:00

I watch Markiplier on YouTube and the thing guaranteed to get me sobbing is Damien on his channel. It's a very sad story.

shdodnbek · 13/06/2021 19:00

The Mauritanian. On prime I think?

I sobbed so hard. But it's such a powerful film and all based on a true story.

It will definitely get you out of your own head for a few hours.

sar302 · 13/06/2021 19:06

My girl - just watch his funeral on repeat where she sobs "where are his glasses? He can't see without his glasses" into his coffin 😭

NotyouGuillermo · 13/06/2021 19:09

Mamma Mia 2, specifically the ‘My love, my life’ scene at the end.

cluecu · 13/06/2021 19:09

For such situations, always Beaches Flowers

LoisDevineeeee · 13/06/2021 19:12

It has to be Bridges over Madison County for me, cried my eyes out in the cinema! Also love The Way We Were

Getafuckinggripman · 13/06/2021 19:13

After Life on Netflix. You'll laugh and cry believe me

donutosaurus · 13/06/2021 19:16

Me before you - makes me cry every single time! And most of the cinema when it was released!
Hope you're ok! x

cariadlet · 13/06/2021 19:17

Another vote for Cargo. My dd came into the room and couldn't believe how much I was sobbing at a "zombie film".

Lava, the short animation about a volcano, think it's Pixar. Makes me cry everytime I see/hear it.

Time Travelers Wife. I never fail to bawl my eyes out every time I watch it

MoiraNotRuby · 13/06/2021 19:29

Sorry about the boyfriend, hopefully it isn't too much of a loss.

I agree with Call the Midwife, and Its A Sin. Plus I recommend Life Is Beautiful.

Good luck for work. Remember - chin up, tips out, you got this.

MoiraNotRuby · 13/06/2021 19:29

Tits not tips ffs!
