Scary thread - I've scared myself stupid

I'm on my own tonight. DH away. DD with her nan.

I've read some scary threads On here and ended up on a google tangent about black eyed children.

I will be honest, I am shitting myself now thinking that because I am thinking about them they will come.

I'm 41 ffs. Can I have some funny stuff to take my mind away from this please.

This is not like me. I'm usually not like this.

I realise I am being ridiculous but now that it's getting dark it's actually playing on my mind.

Please don't google black eyed children if you are a dickhead like I am when supposed to be enjoying a night on my own

This is the kind of thing that scares me…. The fact my little one says he’s scared of the monsters and ghosts and I say ‘there’s no such thing’, yet grown adults believe in ‘black eyes children’ urban myths…

Have you locked all doors and windows?

Placed all keys away from the doors so they can't be got through the letterbox?

What is your plan for thieves who simply smack a window or conservatory door with a lump hammer and enter? If you hear the window give in the night, what are your immediate actions going to be? Have you considered this scenario? Much more likely than encountering a fictional child so might be worth some thought.

Holy moly that is woefully unhelpful when one is trying to get rid of the jitters (I have a plan for it but still!)

I have 4 foxes playing outside my house (it's pedestrianised). I'm always amazed at how silent they are.

The curtains have been packed by mistake.
I'm in a wee bungalow in the middle of ruddy nowhere.
Easily visible by any random weirdo / strange eyed child.
All night long.
I'm not going to get ANY sleep, am I?
