How many close friends do you have?

Not including family.

I have two. I feel that's low. Have other friends but not close close.

3, plus my sister who is my very best friend.

1. Met doing A Levels 24 years ago. Plus my sister is part of our close group too.

We are very close, like a group of Sisters really.

I chat, I try to be amusing. I edit heavily. I tell no one lots of deep truths.

I'm so used to this I can't imagine having a BFF now.

MN has made me paranoid that everyone is extremely intolerant of everyone else. I don't need anyone enough to pander to all their hangups and prejudices.

You have a point. MN does make me feel that there an awful lot of angry intolerant and judgemental people out there. If it is representative of women generally, it’s worrying. It makes me feel a lot of people are covering up their real feelings .

0 - I had lots of 'friend's' during my parting days. I stopped going out therefore drifted apart from everyone still partying. I have DH and a new puppy as well as my family who we see regularly. I'm really not sociable anymore. Prefer to spend any spare time with my family. Life is busy with 2 kids, a puppy, working full time and studying for a qualification. I don't feel that I have enough time to be a dedicated friend. I do feel sad sometimes and wonder if I should have a big group of friends but reading this post has made me realise I'm not the only one.
