How does Kate choose her clothes?

I was just looking at the clothes which Kate has worn on her trip to Scotland. Loved the heather tartan Holland Cooper coat she wore yesterday! It set me thinking - how does she choose what to buy/wear? I can't imagine that she spends hours trawling the Internet to find things she likes the look of, but equally I can't believe someone else chooses outfits for her. I suppose some companies just send her samples to look at, but whatever the truth it must be very time-consuming, especially when she has to buy the shoes, bags and other accessories so it all co-ordinates!

She chooses the thing with the most buttons on it

@WildRosie

This thread makes me wonder if television personalities employ stylists, or at least have access to them. Gloria Hunniford dresses appropriately for a woman of her years without looking the least bit frumpy. The BBC Look North presenters - Luxmy Gopal, Amy Garcia and Keeley Hazell - always wear very flash-looking dresses and outfits. Likewise the BBC Breakfast presenters, whose names escape me!
@wildrosie

Yes of course they do. Anyone in the public eye does.

@Andante57
But I didn’t!!!
Her outfits are often hideous. So are mine.
If you mean because I said she has a boyish figure and doesn’t play to her strengths that’s not nasty - I envy her!

Blue4YOU · 27/05/2021 21:08

But I suppose I forgot to worship her every move and outfit 🙄

I think Catherine picks her clothes to suit an A line figure. She goes for that 1940s shape, with low and deep neck, jacket lapel, V which crosses over. Often double breasted. The length is fitted with darts and seams: tailored: because this gives a shaped outline and makes something of the waist. Catherine has the straight up and down, rather athletic body shape. The flared A line skirt gives feminine shape. It's a style which suits quite medium to big bones.

I think she looks for fashion in her colours which takes this shape. I don't often see her in non-tailoredor mid-shin.

@Diverseopinions
That’s said what I meant much better than me. I’m no fashionista but I bet she could look astounding in more current looks though. Ah well

BalloonSlayer · 27/05/2021 21:38

She dresses in a style to make her legs look longer, with waists very high, very high heels etc.

I love Kate but those dropped waist, midaxi dresses she was wearing a while ago were bloody awful.

Lagomaggiore · 27/05/2021 22:20

@Serpenta

I wonder if she packs her own bras and knickers for these official trips or if the dressers/stylists do all of that too.
I bet the staff pack the lot.

Remember when it emerged that the reason the Blairs had their youngest child was that they were visiting Balmoral where the staff always did guests' unpacking... and they were too embarrassed to pack contraception!

I think her clothes are often horrible, I get the shortening her body & lengthening her legs that she does but a lot of the stuff is frumpy & the jeggings really need to go.

lollipoprainbow · 29/05/2021 10:59

As if she chooses and buys all her own clothes, shoes and accessories ! Hmm
