If you are 5'7, what shoe size are you?

Always felt like my size 6s are quite large compared to my height. I have to wear insoles which takes up room so end up taking a 6.5 or 7, which seems even larger. I remember starting secondary school at 4'11 and a giant size 5! Anyone else with disproportionately large feet? My friend is the same height as me and she takes a 5 so mine seem rather big.

I'm 5'7" and shoes size 4 - feel that size 6 more usual though.

Thatisnotwhatisaid · 20/05/2021 09:41

Size 7 at 5 ft 7, so is my Mum but my Gran is 5ft3 and also a size 7 so hers are a bit disproportionate Grin.

I don’t think it’s disproportionate at this height at all. DH thought my feet were huge when I first told him my size, he seemed to think all women had size 5 feet.

5"7 and size 6, some shoes are 6.5 but mainly a 6

Cinderella Shoes
Magnus
Cristina.

They all stock a really good range of shoes etc for women who leave a larger footstep.

There are also lots of American suppliers if you don’t mind the postal charges etc.

Furrybutts · 20/05/2021 09:49

5'7" and size 7 or 8

Hotcuppatea · 20/05/2021 09:51

Size 6 before children. Now a size 7.

Anne1958 · 20/05/2021 09:52

This explains different shoe sizes internationally.

5 ft 5.5 and my feet are UK size 7 (rarely 6.5).

You don’t have big feet for your height!Envy Size 6 is average in the UK, and 5ft4 is average height so I’d say you’re smaller than average

AtoZed · 20/05/2021 10:07

6 is a small shoe size.

I'm a 7.5 or 8 and I'm shorter than you.

Todaytomorrowyesterday · 20/05/2021 10:12

My sister is 5,6 & a size 7.5! I’m 5.10 and only size 5.5 - my feet look to small for me Grin

NotMrsTumble · 20/05/2021 10:13

5'7" and a size 41/42
DD is 5'8&1/2 and needs a size 9/ 43 shoe.
Women's shoes in a true 9/eu 43 are really hard to find. Don't start me on the companies that have 40 as a 7, 41 as an 8 and 42 as a 9....

Enko · 20/05/2021 10:18

7

sonicshoegazes · 20/05/2021 10:21

I'm a size 9 or 10! My feet are the bane of my life!

goodsapphic · 20/05/2021 10:47

NotMrsTumble yes I would imagine it would be quite hard to find shoes in that size. My sister is a wide 8 so most often wears a 9 and I wonder how she finds shoes to fit. She is a 42 EU I think. I've seen some shops only go up to a 41 which seems a bit ridiculous.

Now that I know where to buy shoes I feel no differently from anyone else who’s feet aren’t an average size though I can understand that if size isn’t the only consideration in place then it may be a bit more difficult to get what you want.

There are many UK only companies specialising in extended shoe sizes and many overseas who are happy to ship internationally.

I spent so long wearing awful shoes but not anymore, there’s so many places to buy them that even when I travel abroad I can be guaranteed to find shoe shops with large sizes shoes almost everywhere I go in Europe.

This picture is of my shoe cupboards and each cupboard holds about 35 pairs. Some of them though are shoes that I can’t see myself ever tiring of, my HOGL suede wedges for example, and I buy a few pairs of each just in case they ever stop production.

Shopping for extended sizes has never been so easy.

Worriesome · 20/05/2021 11:23

I’m just under 5 7” and am a size 6 but can get into a 5.5 too, depends on the shoe x

YellowFish12 · 20/05/2021 11:26

5'8 and a size 7.5 (which is annoying as 40 is generally too small and 41 too big in shoes!)

PaperbackRider · 20/05/2021 12:27

Size 41. Can you stop calling us all big footed and disproportionate please? Hmm

Shops aimed at younger women often stock up to a size 9 because foot sizes are getting bigger for younger people. That’s probably why you can get them at Office and Aldo and even Zara / H&M but not necessarily Dune or M&S.

Yes there definitely feels like an unpleasant undercurrent of women should be “dainty” and bigger than a 5 is freakish/“manly” Hmm

That makes sense Grumpy

This thread reminds me of my MIL who regularly exclaims very loudly what ENORMOUS feet my daughter has.

DD is 6'1 and her feet are a size 9.

I'm 5'7 and mine are a size 8-9. Used to be an 8 before children.

OldTinHat · 20/05/2021 16:44

5'7" here with size 7 feet.
