Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

Bearyhumcrack · 14/05/2021 06:58

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

Oh my gosh I can’t believe this is still going on. You are handling it fabulously and I hope there is a resolution soon.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 01/10/2021 13:44

My blood is boiling for you. What. A. Prick.

Noshowlomo · 01/10/2021 13:51

This is CRAZY, so after all this time you still don't know really what you're supposed to have done, nothing specific anyway? Did he just not like you, make some shit up and then it escalated? Who does he think he is.. i hope you and your rep WIPE THE FLOOR WITH HIM. What are the next steps?

GrimDamnFanjo · 01/10/2021 14:13

This is nuts.
Have you any idea why you've been singled out ?

Rainbowshit · 01/10/2021 15:08

This is awful! I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Twitchynose · 01/10/2021 20:58

Just seen your latest update. Utter madness. I hope you get some resolution soon and that he pays for the impact this has had on you.

Hugoslavia · 01/10/2021 23:19

So where is the evidence that you influenced someone to post on Twitter? Presumably the complainant found something written on twitter against them and then, decided that you must have had something to do with it because they couldn't think of anyone else. Have they even told you yet what the message actually was on twitter?

P.s. would you like us to all single out your LM on twitter. I think that you'd discover that you had more influence than you thought after we've all read about what a twat his is! 😉😂

Strangevipers · 01/10/2021 23:21

Well done OP for staying strong!

Fenelladepompom · 02/10/2021 05:37

How can you respond if you don't know who you are supposed to have influenced to say what? Surreal.

MyOtherProfile · 02/10/2021 06:06

I can't believe this is still going. It doesn't seem to be taken very seriously and yet it is causing you so much harm.

Backofthenet20 · 02/10/2021 06:22

This thread is awful to read. Have been following fir a while. Hopefully gets resolved soon & you can submit your grievance

DogDaysNeverEnd · 02/10/2021 06:36

Surely the policy about not submitting a grievance whilst an investigation is ongoing is a guideline?? Grin but yes, stick to the book and hope that sense prevails. Have you thought about "what next" OP? Do you have to keep working for this twit? It would be interesting to hear some possible scenario outcomes from the rep so you can prepare, which might help limit the anxiety.

TidyDancer · 02/10/2021 06:58

Omg I remember reading this when you first posted it, I can't believe it's still going on! How ridiculous! The longer it goes on, the more absurd it all sounds!

How you're doing as well as possible with all the stress OP.

LittleBear21 · 02/10/2021 07:07

Goodness your LM sounds like a nightmare. I cannot understand why someone would want to pursue something like this. He won't be doing him any good tying himself in knots like this.

Well done you for standing your ground and not putting up with it. Good luck with the next stage.

Savoury · 02/10/2021 07:34

What stands out to me is that you haven't mentioned HR - where are they?! They should be the ones managing the process, ensuring DSARs are returned on time, taking notes etc. Them not being involved suggests he's trying to manage this himself without anyone else.
Is that accurate?

EnjoyingTheSilence · 02/10/2021 07:41

Wow. I’ve just read all this this morning. I can’t believe this is being going on for so long. How do people get away with being so utterly incompetent. Hope it’s nearing the end for you.

PatchworkElmer · 02/10/2021 08:04

This situation is insane! Can’t believe it’s still ongoing.

GoIntoTheLight · 02/10/2021 19:02

WTF this raises more questions than answers!

Bearyhumcrack · 02/10/2021 19:11

I've not read the report he gave me yet. It was painful enough listening to him read it out. I will attack it with gusto on Monday. Tricky trying to prove he's lied about the interviews, I suspect it will be the word of me and rep against him and HR scribe.

Backofthenet20 · 03/10/2021 04:08

Can you ask for any future meetings to be recorded for clarity?

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 09:08

If a HR person was taking notes, I'd expect them to give them to you to read through, and agree that they were accurate. Either at or very soon after the meeting took place. If they haven't done that, then it's rather suspect.

HermannlovesPauline · 03/10/2021 09:27

Yes there should be a HR note taker or even better an independent note taker and all minutes should be published after the meeting for all parties to sign to say they were an accurate representation of the discussion

Bearyhumcrack · 03/10/2021 12:22

LM says he didn't have to take notes in the first one, the second record of interview doesn't contain everything he says it does... he gets the two meetings mixed up which is something I will absolutely address. HR person is "acting up" in a role they wouldn't normally and I would be astonished if they took much down other than his pre-written blurb.

So the accuser doesn't have any evidence at all they are just saying "I saw x y z" on a social media platform that has since disappeared?

ThatsNotMyReindeer · 03/10/2021 12:44

@Bearyhumcrack I've been silently following your progress and just wanted to say you are awesome! I suspect he thought this was another way to flex his muscles and you'd roll over and take it. How wrong was he?!
