What’s your cardio fitness level?

Just got an Apple Watch and it’s telling me my cardio fitness is low (19). Cheer me up and tell me I’m not the only one😁

Never challenge the kid in the final 100m at parkrun!
Ours is a two lap course. I said "behind!" to alert my then 5yo to the front runner about to lap us and instead of tucking in, he panics and sprints at the front runner's pace for 50m with me full pelt behind trying to get back to arm's length Grin

My VO² max tends to come up as high 40s/ low 50s and Elite. It favours the lower heartrate of Jeffing over sprinting after errant children Grin

According to my Apple Watch, 30.9, above average. It only charts on walks and runs though. I don't do much running (trying to get out once a week-ish at the moment, but often it's only once a month). I do spinning and yoga and of course lots of walking at the moment, and in normal times, a PT and a circuits class, so I'm not totally sedentary. No idea if it's a fair representation or not.

Not sure what formula they use, but fitbit info on their cardio score variables is here.

A watch cannot measure your Vo2!

TerpsichoreanMuse · 16/04/2021 07:17

It can, with reasonable accuracy.

Mine's 43, which is pretty good for 60.

I'm at 30 (and I'm 55 years old) , so in the High range. Grin

Not quite sure how that happened as my cardio regime is not all that.

Sammysquiz · 16/04/2021 22:25

It can’t measure your Vo2.

It can give a reasonable estimate based on the readings available to it but that is not the same as measuring Vo2.

Redbrook · 16/04/2021 22:36

Mine's 44-48, I’m 61. No idea what it means, but fitbit says I’m excellent. I’ve never been excellent at anything before so I don’t quite believe it !
