What’s your cardio fitness level?

Just got an Apple Watch and it’s telling me my cardio fitness is low (19). Cheer me up and tell me I’m not the only one😁

I don't have an apple watch to compare. Do you know what scale 19 refers to?

CMOTDibbler · 12/04/2021 15:40

Really good - I have a Garmin, and don't get a cardio fitness score, but my VO2Max is 41 which is in the top 10% for my age and gives me a fitness age 22 years younger than my calendar age

CMOTDibbler · 12/04/2021 15:42

Sorry, 26 years younger :-)

How do you see that? I’ve an old Apple Watch so maybe don’t have that feature?

99victoria · 12/04/2021 15:43

My cardio fitness is apparently 42-46 which is at the top end of excellent for 'a woman my age' :)

99victoria · 12/04/2021 15:44

(I'm nearly 60!)

Poppytroll · 12/04/2021 15:48

I’ve just tried to find mine. Is it the thing that’s measured in VO2max?? If so mine was 41

Mine is 36. I'm in my 50s and run every day. However, I would question how accurate it is, as my watch is quite poor at measuring my heart rate when I'm running. DD said the other day that the watch only calculates that measurement from outdoor walks and runs, and as she most does HIIT she doesn't think hers is a true representation. I haven't looked into it further but I'd be tempted to treat it with a pinch of salt!

fallfallfall · 12/04/2021 16:00

63 and cardio fitness score 27.4.

fallfallfall · 12/04/2021 16:01

Sorry 28.4

WaltzingBetty · 12/04/2021 16:04

Age 41 and cardio fitness/VO2max of 36 (Fitbit not Apple Watch)

DeadCertain · 12/04/2021 16:09

My VO2 max is 52 - top 2% of my age group. That said I have always done a lot of endurance sport and run about 50 - 70 miles per week at present amongst other exercise so would expect it to be good.

I am currently far too neglectful of strength training which I really need to address.

fallfallfall · 12/04/2021 16:09

Too bad fit bit and Apple have different metrics I’m on Apple

Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 16:13

I don't have an Apple Watch. How can I find out how unfit I am? (I know I'm quite unfit because I can't keep up with my friends).

massistar · 12/04/2021 16:15

According to my Fitbit mine is 39 which is excellent for women my age (48) .

onemouseplace · 12/04/2021 16:19

My fitbit says mine is 33-37 which is good to very good for a woman of my age (43). Considering I'm overweight/ borderline obese and not especially active, I'm quite surprised by that.

Purplewithred · 12/04/2021 16:22

Fitbit is 43-47 which is excellent for a woman of my age, allegedly. I am inordinately proud of my heart health, which I mostly got for free from my parents.

Corkina · 12/04/2021 16:25

Im 44 and got max V02 43.7...eel happy with that as I've turned my exercise up so many levels in the past year, precious to that I did very little, but I've worked hard

Corkina · 12/04/2021 16:25

Well I meant

Purplewithred · 12/04/2021 16:28

We'd all be better off looking at our Q-risk qrisk.org/three/index.php

But you do need to know your blood pressure and your cholesterol ratios to do it properly.

AlexaShutUp · 12/04/2021 16:28

Mine is 30 - average for my age. Considering I have around 3 stone to lose, it isn't awful, but I'd like it to be better. It has improved substantially through regular exercise and as a result of weight loss.

Hestyo · 12/04/2021 16:31

41-45 on Fitbit.
Annoyingly, despite doing the same exercise, my resting heart rate goes up after ovulation which always takes my score down slightly. Then period starts, heart rate goes down, and my fitness score goes back up. Clearly fitbit doesn't factor menstruation in. Just women innit.

LizziesTwin · 12/04/2021 16:31

My Garmin rates mine as 47, top 1% for my age & sex. Apparently I have a fitness age of 20. I just wish I had the recovery of a 20 year old.
