The most random things you watch on YouTube

Like so many I do enjoy a good cat video and things like drone footage of beautiful places I don't know when I'll be able to visit.

Lately I've got sucked into watching random mundane vlogs of people walking round their towns. There seem to be quite a few doing this for Blackpool in particular, all going round the same streets every day but the video quality and narrative varies. (Is it some sort of local arts sponsored thing?) I don't know why I've ended up watching these but I keep doing so. There's one elderly sounding man in particular who seems to find joy in the little things such as sunshine over the Irish sea and that's quite charming in a way.

I also love watching things like old TV idents, announcers, snippets of old news, etc. particularly regional.

I love the American drain unclogging man! He's lovely.

Were you sent there from the HoofGP? I now know more about trimming cows feet than is sensible for someone who has nothing to do with cows.

Shu and Tree, it's dogs being groomed and is the most relaxing thing ever.

HeronLanyon · 01/04/2021 13:31

twozero you may have your own lathe (I definitely want one but need a garden and shed first). Have you seen the wood turning app games. Some are great. I find lathing various things extremely relaxing sometimes aggravating when I take a big chunk out of something beautiful by the odd slip.

SilkySuky · 01/04/2021 13:37

I watch tribal people try, a channel of tribal people being given gifts and eating western food, very wholesome. Also a Japanese lady making bento boxes for her family, I think it's called imamau room. And like pp I also like the white guy who speaks lots of languages, and the reactions he gets.

But then I watch Dr Phil and Steve wilkos.
My feed is weird.

stressbandit · 01/04/2021 14:01

Geisha putting on their make up and getting their hair done.
A very knowledgeable woman critiquing how historical accurate costumes are. (Really annoying voice though)
Power washing really grubby stuff, there's a gravestone one that's extra satisfying.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 01/04/2021 15:37

Shipping Forecast. I put it on when I'm doing something that requires concentration.

Dr. Pimple Popper - not so much now as I've seen so much it seems samey.

Footage of big ships being launched either forward or backward or, and I didn't know this - sideways. Making use of the ships' buoyancy to right itself immediately. The people on the shore love to see the larger than average wave it creates when launched !

Also love to watch mega ships crashing and / or sinking as long as there are no casualties or deaths as a result.

Huge ships colliding with a bridge or quayside are funny ! Again, as long as their is no injury or fatalities.

My internet worm hole is watching the wild monkeys at the Siem Riep temple in Cambodia. The monks take videos footage of their antics. I've wasted time into the early hours of the morning watching !

Some are sceptical of the, 'monks' because their broadcast channels are monetized. However, it's a hard habit to break.

I absolutely love to watch Bailey Sarian - murder, mystery and make up. She tells a murder/ missing person/ supernatural story whilst doing her make up. It's actually really cool and she has around 4million subscribers so I know I'm not the only weirdo who likes watch her videos.
