Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

Cath Kidston stuff is not pretty

Anything that is overdone and does not appear to get any creative investment put in it can get boring after a while Sad

@zaffa

I'm not a big fan of daffodils. I think they look untidy and straggly Shock
I love Daffodils but wvery time I buy them for home they smell like decomposing body or something 😂
PattyPan · 29/03/2021 10:52

Marvel is shit

Confusedandshaken · 29/03/2021 10:53

Soap operas are all deadly boring and sap your IQ.

ddl1 · 29/03/2021 10:55

I hate the current fashion for celebrating adults' 'milestone birthdays'. Not because I think it's childish or frivolous, but because I don't want my new age to be rubbed in and made into a social occasion. Actually if no one ever reminded me of my birthday at all, it would be great!

tenredthings · 29/03/2021 10:56

I bought a rubber floor brush after recommendations here. It's unbelievably shite !

Colette · 29/03/2021 10:57

Young bearded men who resemble Victorian circus ring leaders with twirly moustaches drinking tea out of jam jars look like complete w***s

That’s brilliant!!!

HypocrisyDoubleStandardsMess · 29/03/2021 10:59

Opera singing is highly overrated - just people singing in an exaggerated manner and screaming for no reason.

Andypandy81 · 29/03/2021 11:01

To think it’s ok to hold a celebration/party ie wedding, birthday party , hen party or baby shower. Also not unreasonable to expect a present.

the80sweregreat · 29/03/2021 11:08

I hate birthdays. Especially the 0 ones.
I hate how it's become another thing.
(don't mind other peoples birthdays though ! )

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/03/2021 11:12

@callmeH

Whoever thought to remake Dirty Dancing should be put in a corner and shot! I caught a few minutes of DD 2017 on TV recently, I'm still picking my jaw up from the floor.
They remade Dirty Dancing?

Why?

Just WHY???

Salarymallory · 29/03/2021 11:12

Most people are overweight because they eat too much crap and don’t exercise or even basic movement enough

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/03/2021 11:13

@Estara

Daniel Radcliffe is a crap actor. Every character he plays is awkward to watch.
Seconded.

Not even good-looking enough to forgive for being crap, either.

Stratfordplace · 29/03/2021 11:14

Adele is music to slit your wrists to

SplendidSuns1000 · 29/03/2021 11:15

I think dogs are unclean and annoying. I don't understand why people think they're a family member. I understand why you'd love a pet but some people's entire personality is just DOG

lilybetsy · 29/03/2021 11:15

@TwunchOfBats

ABBA are (and have always been) over rated. Their songs are fine, but don't deserve to have lasted 50 years.
That is heresy, ABBA are superb. That is all.

I'm going to a friends 60th birthday later. Just 6 of us in her garden and the first time I've seen any of my friends since last autumn. I'm more excited about this than any party I've been to since I was about 10 so I'm going to have to disagree with you and say adults celebrating milestone birthdays is a very good thing.
VictoriaLudorum · 29/03/2021 11:18

I hate diamond solitaire engagement rings.
I also hate wedding rings that are not just a plain circle of whatever metal has been chosen.

MissConductUS · 29/03/2021 11:21

Yanks are generally nice people and there are lots of good things about America.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 29/03/2021 11:22

@DinosaurDiana

This thread won’t last long, they never do 😂
There’s always a rather irritating, smug ‘This will be deleted’ post on the first page of these threads. It’s amazing how many of them DO seem to last...
StillCoughingandLaughing · 29/03/2021 11:26

I love Prosecco and, every time I see a Mumsnetter droning on about how it’s ‘grim’, I assume they’ve decided it’s a bit ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ and that they want to make it super-clear that they are NOT that kind of person. Well, I also hate LLL, but would happily have Prosecco on a drip.

PunkrockerGirl59 · 29/03/2021 11:27

Cats are better than dogs. Fact Smile

I'm also madly looking forward to a few outdoor mini-get-togethers, now that we can! Just so long as they don't come with reminders of my age. Never liked to have my new age rubbed in, even as a kid.

Don't mind celebrating others' birthdays, though!

Halloumi is gross. Salty and rubbery.
Gin is horrible.
