A gold star for a correct answer

Anyone up for solving this puzzle?

11?

@CKBJ

5.7?

Best answer of the thread.

Can you show your workings? Confused

Thanks, RunningFromInsanity, but it's still frying my brain ... seems with one question they're counting the number of chips and with others counting the whole cookie as one item

I need a drink ... Grin

CanadianJohn · 20/03/2021 13:44

I don't like chocolate chip cookies, so I threw it out.

I ate the bananas while looking at the problem, so they don't count.

I'm retired and we've been under a severe lockdown forever, so time doesn't matter.

So, the answer is zero, null and void.

I'm off to read "Being and Nothingness".

2+1+1x7=28?

ohhhh Bodmas. I'd forgotten

So
1 x 7 = 7
1 + 2 = 3
7 + 3 = 10

10?

Joolsin · 20/03/2021 13:48

40

CKBJ · 20/03/2021 13:49

Yes of course!
The first line with cookies: each cookie = 10
2nd line: bananas =2 and cookie =10
3rd line: bananas= 2 the flowery thing (?)= 3
4th line flowery thing (?) = 3 banana= 1 because there is only one cookie has 7 chips instead of 10= 0.7
3+1+1+0.7= 5.7

GinasGirl · 20/03/2021 13:50

Or ..
1x7=7+2+1=10

Ellmau · 20/03/2021 13:50

Ellmau · 20/03/2021 13:51

Or possibly 12.

The number of spots on the cookie must be relevant. Banana is 1, clock is 3? BODMAS to calculate?

Batsaboutcats · 20/03/2021 13:53

10

EskSmith · 20/03/2021 13:54

@Hallyup5

I think you want me to say that the answer is 10, but I'm going to say that it's unanswerable. There is nothing to say that one banana is half of two, that a chocolate chip equals one, or that a clock set to 2 is 2/3 of a clock set to 3. It's all assumptions.

I hate these.

Flowers Thank you - eloquently put!

I agree entirely

Clock is 3?

Really?

An adjustment to my answer. Thank you the poster who said the flowery thing is a clock!

My answer is now 4.7 as the clock is at 2 o’clock instead of 3 o’clock

FreekStar · 20/03/2021 13:55

It's 10

How? Your workings are hilarious 😆

Bloody hell! How have I managed to get through life not knowing that there is a correct order to do calculations in?

I'm actually shocked.

PixellatedPixie · 20/03/2021 13:56

28?
I think I have lots of clues from doing Year 1 maths during lockdown! Things I wouldn’t have noticed before! 🤪
