Does anybody actually like chocolate liqueurs?!

Or do I mean liqueur chocolates? I didn't even know they made these anymore until I found some in the cupboard earlier.

Having forgotten how much I always hated them, and being greedy desperate for a chocolate hit, I ate one. Or rather - I tried to! Bleurch!

Does anyone out there like them?

I quite like them sometimes.

I love Goldkenn Grand Marnier bars but they don't sell them in many places any more.

My parents still buy them at Christmas and I love them! Which is odd because I don’t usually drink alcohol and am quite fussy about chocolate.

Just realised that it has never occurred to me to (a) buy them for myself and (b) have them at any time of the year other than Christmas.

I don’t like ones with whisky in but otherwise yes, lovely.

I want to know more about which Polish brands to look for too ☺️

I love cherry chocolate liqueurs, not all of them though, M&S are much better than Thorntons! Thorntons are too sweet and nasty. Haven't tried Mon Cheri.

@MsMoppet my Dd works for Ferrero so she got sent them for some work reason - I wouldn't ever pay for them 😁

When I was little I used to give them as presents to most of the grown ups in my life at Christmas because to me they were 'special grown up' chocolates. Feeling my relatives may have dreaded my presents now

My inlaws love them (for context: 70+, living in rural Russia, have never travelled outside the former USSR). It is an absolute ballache to find choc liqueurs whenever we fly over the there - in theory Sainsbury's has the Grant's selection in stock but it never does really, so I end up driving around the Tescos of south London looking for anything remotely suitable. We still have three in the cupboard fermenting away given last year's cancelled travel.

I love chocolate liqueurs and don’t see them often enough. The last ones I had were cherry ones from my Russian SIL.
Weird thing for me is that although I love chocolate, I don’t drink alcohol!

I have not ever had one I liked and I like chocolate and many alcohols. In the past when an urgent need for chocolate has arisen ive drained out the alcohol and eaten the chocolate - often completely ruined by that crystallised musty alcohol (they’ve always been out of date here).
Have not bought or eaten one for decades now. One of life’s mysteries for me.
Just the thought of one makes me slightly queasy.

The are gorgeous OP. There is obviously something amiss with your taste buds. Pass 'em over to me. I have been known to eat a box in one sitting. I start bingeing when they appear in the shops in September and replacing regularly until Christmas. Costs a fortune!

A friend I thought with our shared love of the little cherry bombs but no.....................White chocolate is lush. Bananas are the work of Satan.
