I always thought, that Shezlon, was some kind of fancy .elegant and ornate Chinese chair, I must have read it somewhere and perhaps this is the way they spell their version of the said seating items. I could be wrong, but I am sure that I once came across this name, somewhere or other.

HauntedDishcloth · 15/03/2021 17:19

I saw an "otter man" the other dayGrin

PutItInNeutral · 15/03/2021 17:22

I’m a Brit in the US.

I see a lot of ads for Rod Iron, or Rot Iron (wrought iron)

RoSEbuds6 · 15/03/2021 17:24

I love these, but am not sure what egog is though....

for full disclosure I used to pronounce the fabric 'bouclé' as 'boostle' so I can't laugh too loudly.

I love the champagne pronunciation though and will call it that from now on.

Tangledtresses · 15/03/2021 17:26

@Cattenberg

My schoolfriend’s family had a large chest of drawers they called the ”toyboy”. I had no idea what they were on about.
It's called a tallboy 😂
Hadalifeonce · 15/03/2021 17:28

my grandmother used to say san fairy ann, I never really understood what she was talking about, until I was well into my 20s.

Maverickess · 15/03/2021 17:28

Egog - the only one I can come up with is agog?
As in I'm agog to see if I'm right? 🤷

I thought it was a fainting couch

Devlesko · 15/03/2021 17:33

I saw a picture drawn by a child in a school entitled egog (Hedgehog)

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 15/03/2021 17:35

Someone on mumsnet got a note from their neighbour that included the phrase “in the fasinate of the bin” meaning “in the vicinity of the bin” and I think about that a lot.

Shezlon · 15/03/2021 17:38

Ah I needed a name change. Grin

I searched on Facebook marketplace and there are LOADS of shezlon, shezlong and this one...
