My mum died today

Unexpectedly, at 52. I came home from work to find multiple ambulance crews going her cpr on our driveway.

I don't even know where to start, how to keep myself together, to look after my dad, to live without her.

I just needed to write it down, I'm still in shock

So sorry for what you are going through. I too lost my mum very suddenly - she was looking after my dd the evening before then by 11am the next day she was dead. Thinking of you.

I'm so sorry, @tigerbread20. We are never ready to lose our mums, but so young and so suddenly is horrible. I won't lie, it takes it out of you in ways that reveal themselves over time. I hope you do have support IRL, and you can always find us here to hold you up when you can't do it anymore.

I always try to imagine that every tear cried is a little bit of love, not leaking out but shining, for all to see. That store of love is unlimited, and surprises me regularly, 2 years on. She was worth all of the tears.

I’m so sorry. It’s horrendous, there’s no getting away from how horrific this is. Just go day to day, take time for yourself while supporting your dad. You too are grieving, so please rely on people close to you, you need this right now.

I'm so sorry. It's all such a terrible shock for you and will take a long time to process so whatever you're feeling now is the right thing.

People around you will want to help so take all the support available. You don't have to shoulder everything. Remember to eat and try to sleep as you will face exhaustion over the next few weeks.
