So what don't you have at home that others would find essential ?
I don't have a dishwasher or a tumble dryer. We also only have 1 tv in the family room.

@GameSetMatch

How do people without microwaves warm their plates?
Do people do this? Why are you warming your plates?
louderthan · 15/02/2021 18:51

Dishwasher
Tumble dryer
Games console
Only got a microwave very recently
Car
Property
Hair dryer
Horse (the worst one...)

A corn maternity dress apparently Hmm

EileenGC · 15/02/2021 19:12

A music library. Way too many objects related to my instrument - they take up a whole room.

I always have a big, empty Ikea carrier bag in one corner of my room. That's where random things go when I don't immediately have time to clear them away, or simply when I need to get something out of my view and it doesn't have a set place. I go through it every evening though - it never gets full. I need a big Ikea bag so big items can also fit in there!

wanderings · 15/02/2021 19:16

A Lakeland heated airer, which somebody keeps trying to persuade me to buy. Radiators do the job just fine.

Roadtohades · 15/02/2021 19:18

How do those of you without kettles manage?

Merename · 15/02/2021 19:19

No TV here. I’m surprised at how many are the same and we’re not as weird as some think we are in RL!

PetrovYelyenaAndMe · 15/02/2021 19:20

Microwave.

Flat screen tv.

Consoles/dots/tablets.

Clearly anything very desirable - we were burgled a few years ago and the burglar didn’t seem to find much to take: a disappointing house for them Smile

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/02/2021 19:25

@tartanlassie
Wrong order!

My mum didn't have a kettle until she was 48. I didn't know what kettles were until I moved to the UK, in fact.

Water is boiled on the hob, in a big pot. Tea is only consumed 3-4 times each winter, when it's cold. Veg is almost never boiled. It is not the norm in some countries to have a kettle because you don't use it that often.

I actually got my sister to buy my mum said kettle before going back home for a holiday, because I couldn't contemplate two weeks without readily available boiled water. She still doesn't use it much, it sits there for when I visit Grin

DumplingsAndStew · 15/02/2021 19:28

FinalSongbird · 15/02/2021 19:33

An electric kettle!

We have a whistling one for the Aga.

YoungBritishPissArtist · 15/02/2021 19:35

the80sweregreat · 15/02/2021 19:37

grafittiartist · 15/02/2021 19:40

Tumble drier, dishwasher, Alexa, Garmin.
Do have a stereo system with triple CD player- used every day!

starpatch · 15/02/2021 19:41

a car

rosegoldwatcher · 15/02/2021 19:45

An 'eat in' kitchen.

I have plans. We have funds. Just need DH to visualise...

the80sweregreat · 15/02/2021 19:45

A big sign saying ' love' or something similar!
Lots of cushions on the bed.
A tattoo.

lachy · 15/02/2021 19:45

En Suite - We have a family bathroom and a downstairs loo. Don't want to clean another bathroom.

A dog - much to DD'S disgust.

TV - just the one downstairs, I don't see the point of them in bedrooms. We rarely watch stuff "live" so it's not like we ever have clashing TV priorities.

We have a lot of the other stuff mentioned though, makes me wonder why to be honest.

Notgoingouttoday · 15/02/2021 19:46

Dishwasher
Tumble Drier
Television
Mircowave
Electric kettle
Freezer
Central heating
Alexa
Spare bedroom

Generally do my best to avoid most modern gadgets but do have laptop and phone (needed for work) and as somebody else mentioned they didn't have one, I do have a horse that probably explains why I go without all the other stuff.

TillyTopper · 15/02/2021 19:48

I don't have any makeup (I'm f) nor do I buy any alcohol. I also don't own a hairdryer nor any straighteners (I just towel dry my hair and comb through it).

Clovertoast · 15/02/2021 19:49

A DH or a wedding ring....Sad

Happyfamily123 · 15/02/2021 19:50
