We're having bangers & mash, with veg, yorkshire puddings & gravy. Dd2's helping to cook.

What's everyone else having? :)

Meatballs and parpadelle pasta. Not sure whether to have a sauce, or if I should just garlic it all up and toss it together in the skillet.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 10/02/2021 17:13

Chicken curry, pilau rice, roti and a spicy courgette side curry.

Gluten free toad in the hole with caramelised onion sausages, mash, veg and gravy

Freezer special- Sausages that have been in the freezer a little too long with the nut roast that never got used when Christmas plans changed, the last of the spiced red cabbage and mash.

TrickyD · 10/02/2021 18:46

Hello Lucysmam
Apparently we are having plaice skinned and dusted with lightly spiced flour and caper sauce, new potatoes and green beans. Then mango and ginger fruit salad with cream, ginger wine or Cointreau.
All courtesy of DH.
Since he retired he has gradually taken over all cooking duties apart from baking which is still my domain. It is so nice to be able to ask what we are having for lunch and supper and it's always delicious.
Not LTB just yet.

PickAChew · 10/02/2021 19:05

I'm slightly envious that you get cooked for, @TrickyD. 11 months of every lunch and dinner, including 2 restricted eaters, is wearing thin.

lucysmam · 10/02/2021 19:22

Hi @TrickyD, hope you're keeping well? :)

Your meal sounds much tastier than ours was tonight! It was meant to be a sort of traybake with chicken, potatoes and veg. Everyone ate it, but everyone also commented that it was a bit bland 🤷‍♀️

Cumin lamb meat pie in shortcrust pastry with boiled potatoes and cheese sauce.

TrickyD · 10/02/2021 19:36

Yes, Lucysmam, we are fine here, thanks, both of us have had our jabs.
I miss the Christmas threads, but today we were eating the last remnants of the Christmas cake, and wondered why we don't make more than one a year. Maybe a Dundee cake would do. That would be down to me though.

@PurpleDaisies

Have got a recipe for that *@AtleastitsnotMonday*? It sounds lovely.
I kind of made it up but Soften leeks and garlic in a pan Stir in about a table spoon of flour, 150ml veg stock, 100ml crème fraîche, season and bring to a simmer. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce and add small broccoli florets and grated Stilton (I grate in food processor otherwise it just falls apart!). Put into an oven proof dish and top with sour dough breadcrumbs. Bake for about 20 mins until crisp.

Risotto with Sunday’s leftover diced pork (froze it)

PurpleDaisies · 10/02/2021 19:59

Thanks for that @AtleastitsnotMonday. That’s on next week’s meal plan!

Sgtmajormummy · 10/02/2021 20:21

Pasta al pesto x2
Tin of tuna with veg for me.
Fennel, tomato and carrot salad.
Followed by BBC Good Food’s Pineapple Upside-Down Cake which I’d never made before. Definitely a keeper.

Dahl with spinach - made yesterday for lunch using this recipe. I love the big chunks of garlic in the tadka. kitchen.nine.com.au/recipes/anjum-anands-simple-spinach-and-lentil-curry/d6493e4b-fcbc-473a-8b6e-089fdf8733d4

A curried root vegetable ‘stewp’ with red lentils and a little risotto rice added, and half a bag of baby spinach for the last 2 or 3 minutes.

Plus lovely warmed up naan bread.

FolkyFoxFace · 11/02/2021 20:47

I've spent all day batch cooking lovely healthy soups. I'm 36 weeks pregnant so I've been trying to eat super healthily, too - soups, fish, so much veg I'm starting to look like a carrot. But for two weeks all I've wanted is lovely doorstop toast, butter, and tea.

So I'm having as many slices as my heart desires (or however many I can shovel in 😂).
