Ever won anything?

When I was in junior school I won a trip to see Grandad (80s kids programme with Clive Dunn) being filmed. I remember it seemed to go on forever and wasn't very funny (a man had to hold up "laugh here" cards for the audience!). Since then only ever had the odd £25 Premium Bond win. Ever won anything interesting?

I used to be quite lucky. I won a camcorder, an electric toothbrush and a years supply of crisps when I was wee.

Since then I've won theatre tickets and 50k!

PercyAndPenny · 02/02/2021 23:57

@userxx I have 150k , DH has 150k and DS the same.. so we are maxed out on bonds in each account

I won £125 this month (5 prizes of £25)
DH won £75
DS £25

That's pretty typical - sometimes more and sometimes less.

PercyAndPenny · 02/02/2021 23:59

@userxx umm I mean we all have 50k! The max in each

Blimey ... I read that back and suddenly made myself richer by about 300k 😂😂

spellingtest · 03/02/2021 00:02

£1 on a scratch card in a Christmas cracker two years ago. Still not cashed it in.

EatingAllTheCookies · 03/02/2021 00:08

A mother's day meal for my mum. Had to tell a write story to the radio station. And I said about then mum used the wrong bread in our lunches at school and I opened it up and it was mouldy. She'd binned the good bread and made our lunches with the bad. My younger bro hasn't noticed and ate it

I remember it being a nice pub meal for 4.

🤣 wouldn't say no to an extra £300k.

I've just started on the PB, so am interested to see how people do. Would be very happy with £125. Won £50 this month so fingers crossed for next!

PercyAndPenny · 03/02/2021 09:51

@userxx well good luck with it. I like them because I know the money is safe and although statistics show you may not win the million, it's a bit of excitement each month. So fingers crossed for you! And err me

Therealone · 03/02/2021 10:01

I've won a private snow boarding family lesson at an indoor snowdome.
I've won a couple of different raffles at a local charity, hamper and a bottle of wine.

BearSoFair · 03/02/2021 10:06

Tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2006
Never more than £20 on a scratchcard, I don't buy them very often though so it felt like a decent win for the £2 I paid!

Saywhatyoumeanandmeanwhatyousa · 03/02/2021 10:08

24 cans of Carling Black Label

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 03/02/2021 10:11

Dh won a PS5 on a raffle just before Xmas.

I also won a PS4 a few years back on a raffle Dh did for a charity and he made me donate back Grin :

hollyandkit · 03/02/2021 10:21

I won £25 on Premium Bonds this month - second win ever - maybe starting this thread has changed my luck!

happyhappybirthday · 03/02/2021 15:14

Only a couple of £30 lottery wins and £25 premium bonds. Although I did win a handwriting prize at school when I was about ten.

Stroller15 · 03/02/2021 15:19

I won a drinks a bottle for best effort in an aerobics class when a new gym opened. Also won a few fivers on scratch cards.

emmathedilemma · 03/02/2021 15:45

2 return flights with Sleazyjet

abstractzebra · 03/02/2021 16:03

I've just won £100 because I filled in a survey about the Post Office!
I always think when I fill in surveys 'does anyone actually win these prizes?'
It turns out they do! Grin

Chickoletta · 03/02/2021 16:08

Lots of raffle prizes - £400 hen house, Christmas hampers x 2, vouchers, champagne, bookplates signed by Michael Morpurgo. I seem to be pretty ‘lucky’ if that’s possible. Means that I’m a bit disappointed when I enter things and don’t win now!

vampirethriller · 03/02/2021 18:04

2 x £100 on scratchcards
A mop
A silver necklace
£100 Argos vouchers
£100 Tesco vouchers
£221 on euromillions
A beard care set
A book about human trafficking

ILoveFlumps · 03/02/2021 19:33

I'm what some call a comper, so regularly enter competitions.
So far this year I've won almost a prize a day, mainly little wins but all adds up. Includes:
£50
Two bunches of flowers
Neon light
First aid kit
Skincare
Makeup
Alcohol
Food
and many more. Usually spend an hour an evening entering and only enter for things I want. I class it as my hobby.

TheAnswerIsCake · 03/02/2021 19:46

I’ve won a few things in my time - a few writing competitions and a photography one. I won the hidden books competition - that’s often popular on here - a few years backend received a £250 book token. The best bit (besides all the lovely books) was the cashiers’ eyes popping at the amount the first few times I used it!

Just won 2 lots of £25 on premium bond this month too.

cortex10 · 03/02/2021 19:49

Tickets to a Buckingham Palace garden party - my (public sector) professional association has a members' lottery each year for their ticket allocation.

PuttingOnMyParts · 03/02/2021 20:04

I won an ET soft toy at the fair when I was about 10. I was so happy and really couldn’t believe that I had won Grin

vinoandbrie · 03/02/2021 20:09

A tumble dryer from MN!

This is the only thing I’ve ever won, we didn’t have a tumble dryer before and I still can’t believe my luck - this was a few years ago now!

userxx · 03/02/2021 22:15

@vampirethriller

2 x £100 on scratchcards A mop A silver necklace £100 Argos vouchers £100 Tesco vouchers £221 on euromillions A beard care set A book about human trafficking

Some random items on your winnings list!

Sorka · 03/02/2021 22:43

I won £74 by getting four numbers on the national lottery not long after it started. I won with four numbers again a few years later and got hardly anything. I now play Euromillions and about once a year win £2.50.

I won about £120 on a work raffle once (I forget the exact number).

Usually win £25 on premium bonds quite often but not once since they cut the rates.
