Ever won anything?

When I was in junior school I won a trip to see Grandad (80s kids programme with Clive Dunn) being filmed. I remember it seemed to go on forever and wasn't very funny (a man had to hold up "laugh here" cards for the audience!). Since then only ever had the odd £25 Premium Bond win. Ever won anything interesting?

£25 on the premium bonds a couple of years ago.

An iPad in an MN competition about 5/6 years ago (maybe even longer)

£100 at bingo the evening before Dd1 was born. I was overdue and a neighbour took me out to see if it got things started.

A Ford Fiesta in a raffle 25+ years ago. I couldn't drive at the time so it was registered to DH and he drove it.

I won a club 18-30 holiday to Kavos. (2001)
It was an absolute shit hole (kavos, smelt like sewage)
And our room was above a shitty bar.
I was 25, had had many a girls holiday to all the usual places like faliraki, Malia, Bodrum and San An Ibiza.
Loved a night out and a drink etc but this place was the absolute pits.
Worse holiday ever. Couldn't wait to come home.

@DinosaurDiana

Never ever won anything. Not even a penny on Premium Bonds.
My premium bonds have only ever come up with £25 once. I keep wondering if I haven't registered them properly or something!

Well done amusedbush - that's the best kind of 'win' when you've really worked for something

Hardly ever! I won some crayons in a drawing competition when I was 10. I won 3rd prize in a raffle (box of Milk Tray) when I was 16. I won a £10 voucher in a photography competition at work about 5 years ago - because I was the only one who entered! Grin

TangerineGreen · 31/01/2021 21:13

I’ve won some £25’s on premium bonds, a prize for my chemistry project at Uni, but my best one was 3 months with an amazing personal trainer who himself had won untra-ironmans. Never been so fit!

Santaiscovidfree · 31/01/2021 21:22

My dd (adult) spent a tenner on raffle tickets for younger siblings school fair.. The drinks table.
She won a bottle of J20!!

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 31/01/2021 21:30

Family ticket for Alton Towers in a prize draw
2 Hooby backpacks and Hoob beanie toys (TV show The Hoobs) in a prize draw
Tickets for the midnight book signing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

35andThriving · 02/02/2021 20:05

I won a Walkman once when I was young.

Isababybel · 02/02/2021 20:18

@Bearlyclearly

I won a gigantic box of rolos too, orobably a years supply but def did not last that long Grin was it a Bbc competition circa 2000-2001?
HeatherW82 · 02/02/2021 20:26

I've won 2 Christmas raffles in a row at work. Both were big hampers full of Xmas goodies (including lots of alcohol). Think they had total value of around £100 each.

RuleOfCat · 02/02/2021 20:27

When I was7 I won second prize in the wild flower arranging competition at the village fete. I recall the prize money was something like 25p (1970s). I have a horrible suspicion there were only two entries.

Spudina · 02/02/2021 20:29

I went through a “comping” phase. I had several small wins. Not enough when I think about the hours I spent doing it, but I enjoyed the sensation if winning anyway. I got some signed books from Sky Arts and a years worth of tea. They were my favourites. (Though my idea as to what constitutes a years worth of tea was quite different to theirs!)

unmarkedbythat · 02/02/2021 20:31

I won a bike at school. You got one entry ticket to the draw per £5 sponsorship money you'd raised for some sponsored sport afternoon of hell. I was famously not sporty and not a joiner and pissed everyone off when my single entry ticket, gained because my dad sponsored me a fiver if I agreed not to skive the whole thing, won the bike. I hadn't even participated in any of the activities. I really enjoyed how annoyed some people were.

SeaKelp101 · 02/02/2021 20:37

I won a 60" smart tv at work, far too big but DH loves it

PercyAndPenny · 02/02/2021 20:48

I won the lottery back in 1998. 11k - alas, not a million!

I win between £75-500 each month on premium bonds. Was £225 this month (quite a lot as I have the max amount in my account, so does my DH and DS in theirs - we have placed the max in DS's , it's a potential uni fund in years to come and we place any money won on his account into a separate account for him)

Err that's it

ToffeeNotCoffee · 02/02/2021 20:51

I won a book about a vineyard. (First prize was a posh dinner and wine from that vineyard with every course !)

I've won a couple of ten quid lottery prizes during the first year when lottery started.

I've won three bottles of 'Browns Brothers' wine as a thank you for contributing to a readers letters page in a magazine. For the record the wine was revolting.

I won/was gifted from work some holiday vouchers and the holiday we chose to Greece was very nice.

NovemberR · 02/02/2021 20:53

When the DC were little and at nursery school there was a mum who made beautiful dolls houses. She very kindly donated one as first prize for a raffle and we won it.

The DC were so excited. It's the only thing I've ever won. (Although to be fair, I've never done the Lottery or anything)

cptartapp · 02/02/2021 20:56

A share in £20k as part of a lottery syndicate.
Lots of little prizes on Premium Bonds and one £1000 win.

Splann · 02/02/2021 20:58

I hate to sound incredibly smug but I won a Blue Peter badge. I entered a competition about lifeboats and submitted a picture and a poem. I didn’t win but got it shown on the telly Grin

FredaFox · 02/02/2021 21:01

I won a work trip to Australia years ago when I was a travel agent, went for a week, had to go with work folk but had fun
Won £100 on a scratch card a few weeks ago
Won the Irish lottery twice in a month (£650 each time)
Won plenty of raffles etc, I’m known amongst some friends as being lucky
My dad won the pools in the 70s, few grand which was spent on dining room furniture as they had just bought the house, said pine furniture lasts to the day much to my distaste 😂

shiningstar2 · 02/02/2021 21:05

Several £30 on the lottery for 3 numbers. Once £110 and once £525

orchidsonabudget · 02/02/2021 21:06

I am really lucky

userxx · 02/02/2021 21:07

Is that just on your premium bonds or all 3 accounts ?
