Ever won anything?

When I was in junior school I won a trip to see Grandad (80s kids programme with Clive Dunn) being filmed. I remember it seemed to go on forever and wasn't very funny (a man had to hold up "laugh here" cards for the audience!). Since then only ever had the odd £25 Premium Bond win. Ever won anything interesting?

A SodaSteam in Just Seventeen magazine.

Vinorosso74 · 02/02/2021 21:17

Some tenners on the lottery and just over £100 for 4 numbers once.
I won tickets to see a few bands on Xfm (now the awful Radio X which I never listen to) as they put on their own gigs so saw Cast, The Tears and Bloc Party.

3girlsmama · 02/02/2021 21:18

A new boiler a couple of years ago! I was irrationally pleased Grin

Mudmudingloriousmud · 02/02/2021 21:20

50 last year on pb.

LadyMonicaBOOddingham · 02/02/2021 21:21

A football from the NAAFI when I was 6. £5 from a bag of Mini Cheddars. The hamper from the village Christmas fair raffle. £20 on a scratchcard on our 10th anniversary. Some posted from a local shop's Christmas Facebook competition.

AKAanothername · 02/02/2021 21:21

I got really lucky, I won a flat in London from an Evening Standard competition.

Scoleah · 02/02/2021 21:22

£5000 from my very first £1 spin on a slot machine.
VIP football tickets
£300 vouchers on here after product testing chocolate.
The odd £10 on postcode lottery.
A garmin smart watch on British Gas rewards Christmas game

My dad won £15000 on loose women competition.

Ietthemeatcake · 02/02/2021 21:26

A mobile phone in a prize draw at a trade show.

A few £25 and £50 premium bonds.

My sister aged about 12 won a holiday for 2 to Florida with the local paper. There was then a bit of a panic in case she had to be over 18 to win. She didn't, just had to travel with someone over 18, so she went with our mum.

Helpel · 02/02/2021 21:32

I won the viewer quiz for who wants to be a millionaire that came on before the adverts, you know "press a,b,c or d". An agent from Celador the production company called me on the Monday after the Saturday night programme, I thought it was a marketing call, then they said I had won the £1000 prize - one winner out of 200,000 entries. Felt very lucky!!

yogafairy · 02/02/2021 21:35

I won £250 John Lewis vouchers on MN a few years ago.

Kljnmw3459 · 02/02/2021 21:38

I've won £300 once from a bet.

Really? Do you still have it?

Midnightstar76 · 02/02/2021 21:43

Won a 6k hot tub last year
Have won various bits and bobs over the last ten years including books, cakes , sweets etc.
Also won a sports bra last year and a new book.
Have won new boots, quite pricy £100.00 but by far the best prize has been the hot tub. Not used it yet as waiting for spring.

TheHoneyBadger · 02/02/2021 21:49

Quite a few things on mumsnet many years ago - a years full subscription to every single sky channel, a cordless animal dyson vacuum cleaner and other smaller bits and bobs. I had a real patch of it. This was all around 2009 I'd say.

I occasionally get a disappointing message from the lottery saying I've won a free lucky dip entry. Not even a tenner.

I recently bought some premium bonds and I think I start to be entered into draws from March.

As a kid I won some cinema tickets from a local radio station and a Henry's Cat colouring competition that I can't remember the prize that it won me.

Gertie75 · 02/02/2021 21:55

I always seem to win in tombola, it's a running joke in our family, I get the usually sets of smellies and alcohol.
I did once win a really ugly pot, it was shoved at the back of the cupboard for years then I saw something on antiques roadshow and realised it was a Clarice Cliff pot so I sold it on eBay for £200.

dillusional · 02/02/2021 21:57

I've won nothing in my life. I play the lottery once in a while hoping it makes up for all the things I've never won if I ever win the lottery.

peaceanddove · 02/02/2021 21:58

I led our school debate team to a local victory in 1985. DH and I won a Dirty Dancing competition in Bodrum 1993, back when we were young and limber. We won a 5* weekend break in Leeds at a charity ball in 2004.

Greenevalley · 02/02/2021 22:11

A uni cycle at dd's school summer raffle.
Magnum of champagne.
Gin
Wine etc
Jigsaw
Games
A lot of tat.
£40 on the lottery

The gin caused trouble as it was a good bottle and I was a fairly new member of the group who held the tombola.
I got snide remarks every meeting for a year.
At the next draw the numbers were pulled out of a box by one group member and allocated to a prize picked by her colleague.
I don't think it was a coincidence that I won the only obviously secondhand donation. Smile

Leeds2 · 02/02/2021 22:19

I won tickets to see Michael Jackson at Wembley, on the back of a Pepsi bottle.
A Jamie Oliver cookbook.
A pair of Schuhs.
6 bottles of wine.

ChipsAndKetchup · 02/02/2021 22:22

When I was a teenager my parents won an all expenses paid family trip to California driving a lovely car and staying in very nice hotels. It was fantastic!

Bells3032 · 02/02/2021 22:27

Won £25 in premium bonds
Won a competition to appear on TV with Matthew Kelly and afterwards itv sent my sister and I back packs with toys and dvds and Cds in them (we were 9 and 11).
Also won a t-shirt and other goodies from a competition at ed's diner

MNCar · 02/02/2021 22:32

Name change. 7 years ago yesterday I picked up a car that I won on here.

Laptop

Various smaller items too.

24butfeeling80 · 02/02/2021 22:36

God I’m really jealous reading these, even the smaller wins make me green.

I sign up for so much shite to win, I enter the same bloody this morning competition every day. Always texting win, scratch cards.

I think I’ve won £5 on a scratch card once in my life and nothing more than that. I must be the unluckiest person alive as I love to try my chances (by that I mean I love to spend money thinking I’ll win) and I never do! Envy

noblegreenk · 02/02/2021 22:45

I won a competition to design our school logo in primary school when I was 6. They kept the logo for 15 years and all I got was a £2 Boots gift voucher for my efforts!

Hersetta427 · 02/02/2021 22:48

I won A £3000 link at Mecca bingo once and shared it with my Mum as that was our agreement.
