CoffeeBeansGalore

Yes,@MNerGoneRoguethey are all suitably accommodated.

Rather doubts this

One is currently snoring in the bedroom with me. Her double height cushioned bed is approx 4ft x 3ft. One is sprawled on the 5 seater leather corner unit watching a film with dh. He will get a tea-dunked biscuit and then stay there when dh comes to bed. The other has had her toast & goodnight cuddle and is in her sheepskin-lined bed 5ft x 3.5ft.
So yes, they are more than comfortable for the night.

Which is more than @MNerGoneRogue can say, sleeping in her cell tonight...

NeedToKnow101 · 16/01/2021 23:32

My DS is 17. He got quite lucky really, got good grades for the GCSEs he didn't sit, and now he's in the first year of A levels so hope won't be affected too much. He hardly goes out at the moment at all though, even for a run or a walk. I worry he's going to waste away,

@CoffeeBeansGalore - your dogs sound like they have a great life!

shinynewapple2021 · 16/01/2021 23:36

Your dogs sound very comfortable Coffee . Mine sleeps on an old duvet on the floor in the bedroom .

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:36

@shinynewapple2021

My DS is 19. I think he's fared better than a lot of his contemporaries . We have an empty property in the family following death of elderly relative last year, so when it became apparent that lockdown was going to be more than just 3 weeks, we said that DS could move there with his GF . They are both working so have been able to support themselves .
That does sound like as good a lockdown as can possibly be hoped for, shiny.

Do you see him? Uni? Is he following in your geeky shoes?

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:38

Dogs always seem to live a more comfortable life than their unfortunate slaves owners

Is he in touch with friends virtually needtoknow?
MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:41

Also, he's 17. Don't they all just spend all their time wanking?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2021 23:42

Thank you @NeedToKnow101. I believe that as we chose to have them as part of our lives, it's up to us to give them the best life we can.

It's not me that's geeky Rogue! Are you thinking of midge?

No he's not at uni, dropped out part way through A levels and started an apprenticeship. He's working full time now. They are only about a mile away from us so up until a few weeks back we were meeting in the back garden with patio heater . Just brief hello's on the front drive at the moment .

Oh. As long as your stick to the restraining order.

Honeyroar · 16/01/2021 23:44

My stepson is in his final year, but has just applied to do postgrad Mexico so will be another theee or four years if he gets on. He hadn’t had a single live lecture or tutorial yet this year, despite only having a few months left of his degree. Doesn’t seem bothered!

I think deferring was a good move too. DSS says if he’d have been locked down with his first year housemates he’d have dropped out! If your daughter is going to Manchester or Leeds we’re definitely in reach for a walk/bacon butty.

Fleamaker123 · 16/01/2021 23:45

NeedToKnow101 ...I have DS 17 too. Not left the house since before Christmas! Not great is it 😬

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2021 23:45

Dd2 is at Uni (2nd yr), nearest city to us so used to travel in by train. It's all been online since October but she is in touch with classmates & friends online.

I'm sure he does, but I don't like to ask!

He does speak to his friends and his girlfriend all the time. He went fully nocturnal too and is struggling to get up for his remote lessons in the mornings...

No it's a real worry! He did actually go out for a short while yesterday and again today for the first time in weeks. Probably because I told him he could have a heart attack from being so sedentary,

NeedToKnow101 · 16/01/2021 23:50

@Honeyroar - is your stepson going to live in Mexico City or another part of Mexico? Or was that a autocorrect?

Sorry, yes. Youre social services. I did know that Blush
MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:55

You're.

And you are kicks to have him close. Is he enjoying his apprenticeship?

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:55

To be honest, part of the bail conditions were I came nowhere near this thread. I'm hoping the nc and the fact they're busy policing people breaking lockdown means they don't notice. Please don't grass me up
shinynewapple2021 · 17/01/2021 00:00

It was the making of him really, very half hearted about college but he's been very motivated about work and much improved confidence . He's finished his apprenticeship year and they've taken him on full time .
