My stepson went travelling to Thailand and Cambodia after his first year of uni and came back quite alive. Is your DD generally sensible (or like her mother?!)

Honeyroar · 16/01/2021 22:59

It was Flea. Half points to you and the rogue.

Fleamaker123 · 16/01/2021 22:59

And love, love is just a passing word
It's the thought you had in a taxi cab

70s

Shiny, native new yorker, is it Randy Crawford?

Was going to watch the Serpent, but don't think I'll bother now 😂

@shinynewapple2021

Is your DD at university *@MNerGoneRogue* ?
She was due to be, shiny, but she deferred for a year (so we got to keep her for another year. Yay! An unexpected corona benefit!)

She's not going to be a million miles from honey, so popping by for a bacon sarnie next academic year is not an impossibility

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:03

What type of dog FlouncingB?

FlouncingBabooshka · 16/01/2021 23:05

Somewhere in my Heart was Aztec Camera.

Oi. Flea doesn't care about points
CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2021 23:07

Wow, popped off to put the dogs to bed & you are already on page 4!

No, she's nice. Much more like dh than me
FlouncingBabooshka · 16/01/2021 23:09

@MNerGoneRogue

What type of dog FlouncingB?
That’s the problem. The dogs we really like are completely unsuitable for our lifestyle. I do love a lurcher and we would both love a German Shepherd. Neither entirely suitable given DH’s mobility issues.

I know! And only a few songs posted 😂😂

Is that an adequately sized bed, coffee? Unlike your chair
shinynewapple2021 · 16/01/2021 23:10

@Fleamaker123 correct with Native New Yorker , sung by Oddessey.

I think it's been very hard for that age group Rogue, missing out on independence and being with people their own age .

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:10

Most of them guessed by me needtoknow

as per

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:12

FlouncingB, don't know if this would work for you, but retired greyhounds don't need much exercise.

They're quite high maintenance though rather like your good self

Wise to defer for a year though. I really feel for 1st year uni students.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2021 23:13

@FlouncingBabooshka if you are looking for something smaller, I've known some lovely Jack Russells. There was a miniature who was an absolute sweetie. Or if you want bigger maybe adopt an older calmer dog?

Yes, @MNerGoneRogue they are all suitably accommodated.

Yes. I really feel for this generation. The one good thing is that they all think they've got loads of time ahead to do it all.

I do love having her around though (not that I see very much of her. She's either working or doing online chatting with her mates)

Anyone else on here have kids at a similar age/stage?

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:17

Rather doubts this
MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:18

A lot of her peer group went, shiny. I would describe their experience as mixed!

shinynewapple2021 · 16/01/2021 23:19

We have a Jack Russell. He's a very friendly little dog, clever, but can be naughty.

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:19

(Sorry, that was needtoknow not shiny)

MNerGoneRogue · 16/01/2021 23:22

My horrendous pup is part shih tzu. Freaking nightmare!

Not bright!

And VERY different from her predecessor, who was a boxer. Don't ask!

shinynewapple2021 · 16/01/2021 23:26

My DS is 19. I think he's fared better than a lot of his contemporaries . We have an empty property in the family following death of elderly relative last year, so when it became apparent that lockdown was going to be more than just 3 weeks, we said that DS could move there with his GF . They are both working so have been able to support themselves .
