Most overrated song ever!

Ok I'm sure this will have been done before but I'm currently listening to Greatest Hits Radio's top 500 favourite songs countdown. They've just played Purple Rain and whilst I can appreciate it's a decent song I really don't get the almost universal love for it. I'm sure Hey Jude and Imagine will be along shortly which are IMO the most over rated songs of all time. I'm also the only person I know who isn't keen on Fairytale of New York.

What songs do you dislike that nearly everyone else seems to love?

I hate Love Shack, Karma Chameleon and Mustang Sally, and some others, but the one I hate the most is Tainted Love.

Oasis were just horrible noise.

I love much of John Lennons music but he was certainly a jumped up sanctimonious twat at times

Danny Boy (so depressing) and that awful E17 Christmas song (although it was written in tragic circumstances).

Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile) by Cockney Rebel is absolutely terrible - why does every pop/rock radio station in the world play it so very often?

Does anybody else remember that reality show from a number of years ago - The Call Centre? Nev, the owner/manager was madly obsessed with Mr Brightside and forced all of his employees to sing it altogether every morning. It's not a singalong song at all and I don't know what positive universal message it was meant to portray to theoretically start everybody off on track for a cheerful and productive day. He'd have been better getting them to sing If You're Happy And You Know It - painfully cheesy, but at least it's forced positive, not some random narrative song and one intended for a group of people to all sing together.

As if people don't hate dragging themselves out of bed to go to work every morning enough as it is. If I had been Nev, I'd have gone with Agadoo, The Lambeth Walk or The Marrow Song!
