Takeaway trouble tonight!

Anyone else? I ordered a take away at 7 pm and delivery time was 8.40pm! Still waiting now, can’t get through to restaurant nor just eat. Just had a text from restaurant saying they’re really busy food will be here at half 10. I don’t want to eat at half ten and I’ve been drinking so I can’t go and get something and haven’t got any nice food in. Now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have it delivered yesterday as of course the whole country are having takeaways tonight.

We walked down to ours, got there 5 minutes early to what they are stated as open, they were already open, we ordered it and then popped into sainsburys local, 15 minutes later we had collected it. I got home and after I’d eaten and looked on the town Facebook page and there was already a 2 hour wait for delivery.

We ordered an Indian at 7pm, got an email confirmation, when DH went to collect at almost 8 we were told they hadn't received our order and they were too busy to accept any orders. Got our cancellation 10 minutes later. DH picked us up a kebab which was fine, but not the same as a nice curry. Still pretty pissed off about it.

Tried to order via Uber Eats, they weren't taking orders.

Rang them and placed order the old fashioned way. Full Chinese banquet arrived within the hour.

We had planned the other day to have a Chinese Friday night, glad I realised yesterday so we ordered it for tea last night instead! Even had leftovers for breakfast! Hope your takeaway is nice now OP after the wait for it..

Finally got delivery at half twelve! Got huge bag of food bottle of wine and money off order and lots of apologies.curry was hot and delicious though. Think I’ll be eating Indian for a while.

Ordered at 7, told 8:30 for delivery. I collected at 10 following double-incompetence by the just-eat driver, he forgot our order originally then delivered to an address five miles away! Restaurant very apologetic, luckily I'd only had one beer, feel bad for the restaurant essentially cooking the same order three times though.

I ordered a takeaway a couple of weeks ago via Just Eat. Had a confirmation email but 2 hours later it still hadn’t arrived. Took a drive out to pick it up and when we got there it was closed - presume it had been all evening. Or potentially permanently

Our local Indian started taking pre orders on Tuesday, Wednesday they said they weren’t taking any more and wouldn’t be taking any on the night, we had ordered for 7.30 collection, got there at 7.25 and wasn’t handed my food until 8 but didn’t mind, they were so busy just with pre orders.

Ordered from dominoes in the afternoon for 7pm delivery, arrived bang on time. Even have left over pizza to reheat for breakfast this morning. I did wonder if it would come as this NYE with everyone home will probably have been the biggest takeaway year ever.

We had Chinese. Our local takeaway have a system in place due to lockdown that you have to phone to order between 12 noon and 3pm. Collection times are then pre booked so that there's no queue. Collected it at 6:30 then kept it warm in the oven til 7:15.

Ours took an hour and 45 minutes from ordering, DH waited about 30 minutes and said there were 17 people queueing when he was there. All quite jovial though. They were giving out free bottles of beer in compensation.

We had dominoes ordered at 6.30 came at 8pm was quoted 45 mins. I didn't complain as knew they'd be busy and food was nice and hot

We had planned a Finest meal deal from Tesco. But that was a disaster. Ordered dominos at 7. Had it by half seven.

I ordered mine at 2.45 pm yesterday in anticipation of this happening hops everyone got there takeaway and happy new year

We had a takeaway Wagamama lunch instead this year.

We were cruelly let down one NYE about 4 years ago so we have never done one since.

We had takeaway Wagamamas too, ordered online at 4:10 and collected at 5:30 with only a 5 min delay whilst they cooked the pad Thai.
It was absolutely delicious too.

@Pebbledashery lol I practically inhaled it! I’ve eaten it for the past 2 nights and have another curry in the freezer! It must have been £40 worth of food and the wine. But I know for the future what to do.
