Takeaway trouble tonight!

Anyone else? I ordered a take away at 7 pm and delivery time was 8.40pm! Still waiting now, can’t get through to restaurant nor just eat. Just had a text from restaurant saying they’re really busy food will be here at half 10. I don’t want to eat at half ten and I’ve been drinking so I can’t go and get something and haven’t got any nice food in. Now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have it delivered yesterday as of course the whole country are having takeaways tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised on NYE, we always avoid takeaways on busy nights like this for that reason, but hope it turns up soon!

We ordered for collection and it was ready on time with no queue (brand new Chinese opened locally). Food was absolutely gorgeous too.

We preordered yesterday for 6.30 delivery. They said they were extremely busy and to allow 30mins either side, it arrived by 6.40 and was perfect.

We have an 8pm curfew here in NI, so we decided not to bother trying to get takeaway!

I had a takeaway but ordered it at noon for half 4, knowing it would get busy. Glad I did!

I was ordering the second the Chinese opened at 5 🤣 picked that up and a dominoes and so glad I didn’t leave it!!! Remember ordering on Christmas Eve once and it took bloody hours

We tried to be clever by phoning the restaurant up for a take away when it opened at 4pm. It was fully booked up for take seats and had been since last night Shock

So we settled for a take away near us. This was the queue at 6pm

Rule 1 of NYE. Never. Ever. Ever. Order takeaway for dinner. It’s always a disaster, rushed, poorly made, dubiously made, a let down. All that and it costs a fortune when M&S or Waitrose have perfectly good alternatives.

We ordered at 6:30 told it would be ready for collect at 7:30, husband finally arrived back with it at 8:35.

It was worth it though!

Mine took 1hr 20 mins and we ordered at 17:45, they normally take 40 mins at a push

We ordered for collection as soon as it open end at 1730, collected an hour later. It was always going to be madness.

We ordered at six, we're told two hours but waited four. It was so worth it though, we gave them a tip as they were working their socks off.

Our usual NYE is to get a Chinese and stay in but we figured everyone would be getting a takeaway tonight. We ordered at 5.20, whereas usually we order about 7. Just after ours had been delivered at about 7.40 our local Chinese and Indian had both stopped taking orders.

We ordered at 5pm because they were saying 60 to 90 minutes to deliver.

We were quoted 3 hour wait at everywhere we phoned at 6pm. We live in a small town, not a huge choice. We eventually got an Indian...ordered at 6:15, ready at 9:15.

op that is not ok. 3 of our children had take aways from 2 different outlets today the pizza arrived within 40 mins of having been ordered. and the curry arrived 1.5 hours after it was ordered On ordering the curry they were told 1.5 hours. They both arrived around 8 pm

Oh God, you wont get it till next year now 😬 . We preordered ours at 5 picked it up at 6.45 , by then it was a 2 hour wait for a curry .
