Has anyone seen my Kindle?
I'll look for something of yours in return. Grin

Still no Kindle, but I have found a tidier house.

DH swore blind this morning that his drill bit set definitely wasn’t in the tool cupboard.
He man-searched high and low.
He eventually found it.
In the tool cupboard. Hmm

OublietteBravo · 31/12/2020 14:07

Where is my favourite scarf? It’s literally the only one not in my pile of scarves in the wardrobe. I definitely had it in the first lockdown, and I’ve been WFH since March (so it can’t be in the office).

OublietteBravo · 31/12/2020 14:08

Is the kindle in the pile of recipe books in the kitchen?

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 31/12/2020 14:27

@bumpdownthestairs

I'd say the kindle is under the sofa.... a sad one but if anyone knows where my cat who has been missing for 8 days is I would be over the moon!
Pee in a glass and leave it outside. Your cat will be home by 3am on Jan 2.
Justnormajean · 31/12/2020 14:50

@OublietteBravo
Have you checked the sleeve of the coat you were wearing around that time? Off to check the cookery books.

Panda I want to say that the ring is under a piece of carpet in the corner of a room. Or on the floor in the cupboard under the stairs.

Threelionsandalioness · 31/12/2020 18:49

Is the kindle on a window sill ? I thought I'd lost my bank card and found it on my bedroom window sill ....midnight e-baying has a lot to answer for

Threelionsandalioness · 31/12/2020 18:50

Scarf in the shoe cupboard/bag storage area ?

NerdyBird · 31/12/2020 23:11

Where have I put my ipod and dd's headphones? They were in my coat pocket and I'm fairly sure I recall tidying them away, but where?

NerdyBird · 31/12/2020 23:13

Oh and we once found a lost brooch in the holes of a brick that was being used as edging or something in my mum's garden.

sandieshaw · 31/12/2020 23:17

@TeenPlusTwenties - there’s a broken white plastic ruler on one of our outside window ledges. I noticed it today when I was dusting inside. Our house is fairly isolated though so I have no idea how it got there. Hope it’s not yours as it’s in at least four pieces.
If anyone can find the selection box I got free with my Morrison’s shop over a week ago I’d be grateful. I put it in a “safe place” (out of the sight of DH) and no-one can find it anywhere!

SuddenArborealStop · 31/12/2020 23:19

@NerdyBird I do this frequently, try and recreate finding headphones and tidying away, where would they go... This has never worked for me tbh I tidy and things are lost forever

sandieshaw · 31/12/2020 23:20

Yes yes to the pee outside thing. If you can, pee in a squeezy bottle and squirt round the lampposts/gate posts near your house.
My aunt found her lost dog that way (long story). It definitely works

SuddenArborealStop · 31/12/2020 23:21

I lost one of the earrings my DM gave me for Christmas, the only present I liked and not available online to replace. I think it went into the bin in the orgy of chocolate papers I ate while avoiding MIL

sandieshaw · 31/12/2020 23:21

For the lost cat obvs. You won’t find your kindle by peeing on your front step Grin

Justnormajean · 31/12/2020 23:44

@sandieshaw
Now you tell me Blush

FabulouslyFab · 31/12/2020 23:51

I lost a ring and found it weeks later inside a folded pillow case ....

I’m very impressed you can recall the date! Bear with, and it shall return Grin
@Shitonthebloodything
Not sure about the diamond, but have tried looking at your household and contents insurance?[/quote]
The date my child was born! 😆

Justnormajean · 01/01/2021 01:34

@80sColourfulChristmas
Lucky you, Five year olds are marvellous little things, always seeing the world with fresh eyes and so full of energy and yet to be discovered potential. Give yours a little hug from me, and a sniff of the head.

@Justnormajean Smile awww that was a lovely to thing to say about a 5yo Smile

@SatsumaFan
Thank you, and I’m proud that two of my now adult DC work in education, especially my enormous 6 foot gentle giant son who sings lullabies to the babies in his care to get them off to sleep, but especially enjoys his days in the pre school room.
Sometimes I pick him up from work and have to stop myself from telling a waiting parent that my ‘baby’ is caring for theirs!

When my son told me that my DIL was pregnant, I remember thinking OMG my baby is having a baby.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 01/01/2021 02:17

My life...

Probably easier to find would be my epilator. My beard is out of control and I'm sick of shaving it.

msssm · 01/01/2021 02:41

I found my kindle standing upright between the mattress and the headboard.

I misplace all the things and blame menopause. I also blame it for the fact that I cannot recall any of the things I have misplaced.
