DH reckons we're going to drink some of the mulled wine I bought to share with friends (outside) and now can't. We've got some spring rolls, samosas in so may have them and mulled wine late afternoon. Later M&S ready meals, cheesecake, prosecco. Afterwards a game or crash out in front of tv. DH will no doubt have a drink to see the New Year in, but I'll have had enough alcohol by that point.

Eating an Indian and trying to hide from fecking zoom requests. Do I want to spend my NYE struggling to make conversation whilst dividing my time looking at them on a teeny screen and despairing at how rough I look? No I don’t.

Same as every year I’ve always hated NY after my dad left us on it many moons ago and I’ve never gotten over it.

This year does feel a bit more special though. I haven’t lost any loved ones, I lost my job which I thought I loved due to CV but I’m in such a better place stress/anxiety wise it’s actually a real positive and next week I start my dream job, part time for now but it’s still only possible because A. I put myself forward, approached an independent funeral directors and sold my self well enough to allow them to offer me a trainee funeral director role. (I’m an introvert and I don’t ever put myself forward) B. The redundancy payout made the above possible for me.

I’m cooking a massive roast with a glass of wine for just us here without puppy, life is good right now.

We had a lovely dinner. Small portions of everything but we couldn’t resist cutting into the cake.
It had baked well and come out of the tin with only minor damage which I’d covered with a dusting of icing sugar.
DH had the first taste and his face was a picture- I’d dusted it with salty baking powder!!

His reaction: “If 2020 was a cake, this would be it!” Cake Xmas Grin

Happy New Year to MN from Europe, just a few minutes away from our goodbye.

Nothing different from normal really. Although I did sit and watch some horrendous youtube vidoes of teenagers pranking each other with the dc to spend time with them. Half an hour of that was my limit as it gets on my nerves.

Now dc are in their room moaning about the fireworks which have been going off sporadically since half nine. If we dont stick to routine all hell breaks loose with asd dd.

I am in my room on mn. About to plug into the tablet to watch netflix.
